Client - A US Financial Services firm

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Comfortable in working on research oriented projects independently

- Comfortable in working across industries and businesses including niche sectors

- Independently conduct deep analyses, insight generation and final report making

- Demonstrated above-par analytical ability to process data to draw insights, answering “so what” questions about data

- Adept with various techniques of secondary research such as looking up right sources, understanding source credibility, keyword usage, etc.

- Ability to conduct open ended interviews with industry participants and internal stakeholders to supplement secondary findings

- Interacting with business stakeholders to understand business problems and also throughout the life of the project (kick-off, interim review, final review, presenting findings to multiple and diverse stakeholders etc.)

- Build a reputation with partners as a solution architect, consultant and recommendations-driven person

- Adept in making intelligent assumptions to estimate not-so-easily available data points

- Adept in making conclusions based on limited data, as available

- Intuitive understanding of known industry analysis tools such as Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT analysis, Competitive Metrics, Quadrant Analyses such as BCG or GE matrix etc.; also able to generate coherent and intelligent frameworks to convey own insights

- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

- Adept in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Excel

Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s and post-graduate qualification from top-tier institutions. MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.

- 3-6 years of meaningful work experience in strategic secondary research, value-added knowledge services analysis, insight-building, consulting, quasi consulting, corporate strategy development

- Experience in insights, analytics and strategy function of clients or third-party KPOs.

- Cross sector exposure preferred (specific sector exposure- financial services, retail, hospitality, life sciences, telecom, FMCG, etc.)

Skills/Competencies

- Adept with various techniques of secondary research

- Adept in making intelligent assumptions to estimate not-so-easily available data points

- Flair for quantitative/ qualitative data analyses and interpretation

- Intuitive understanding of known industry analysis tools such as Porters Five Forces, SWOT analysis, Competitive Metrics, Quadrant Analyses such as BCG or GE matrix etc.; also able to generate coherent and intelligent frameworks to convey own insights

- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills

- Adept in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Excel

- Deep know-how of online databases such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Nexis, OneSource, Dialog etc.
