UK Pension Valuations - Analyst / Consultant


- Process, reconcile, and validate the data of various big clients

- Determine factors contributing to change in liability between consecutive valuation periods and perform actual vs expected analysis to know the resulting gain or loss

- Evaluate the liability with respect to regulation and legislation requirements in practice

- Single cell testing to ensure the results reconcile with the Pension Plan reporting requirements

- Determine the solvency position for a company using the evaluated liability and asset value at the valuation date

- Transition of retirement plan data from one software (GRS) to the updated software (Retirement Studio)

- Prepare a report based on the evaluated financial position of the company and mentioning any changes in assumptions or benefits from last valuation period

- Work on the government forms as part of legislative requirement

- High level data validation and valuation review of US and Asian DB Pension and OPEB plans

- Perform asset- liability modeling and future valuations using software and tools like Evolve and FSMPro

- Part of New Client Implementation (NCI) team, wherein new pension plans to are coded from scratch in the valuation software (Retirement Studio)

- Calculated and reviewed Actuarial Benefit obligations as per various prescribed international standards using first principle.

- Perform PBGC 4010 filing (Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation)

- Review accounting disclosures, including working on special accounting like settlement and curtailment

- Performed Swiss and French valuations for 3 months as a part of UK (Belfast) exchange program in 2019

- Trained 6 new hires in actuarial work

- Supervised and managed team members in day-to-day activities

- Responsible for training and mentoring analysts and junior checkers in team as a Team SME and conducting regular knowledge sharing sessions
