AML Compliance Officer - BFS

We have an opportunity with one of our leading Bank in Mumbai for an opening of AML Compliance Officer.

Description

The position is with India Core AML Compliance Risk Management based in Mumbai. The AML Unit oversees the AML compliance risk management function and undertakes regulatory reporting to Financial Intelligence Unit of India.

Core Responsibilities :

AML Compliance officer is responsible for managing the following :

- Facilitating the updation of the India AML program to align with the AML program and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) / Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI). FIU-IND and other local regulatory agencies on KYC / AML requirements.

- Dissemination of local regulatory changes/ policy requirements to the respective business teams for necessary implementation.

- AML Advisory to Businesses on various KYC / CDD compliance aspects by providing quality and timely guidance/ clarifications/approvals.

- Drive increased understanding and accountability for AML risks across all three LVs.

- Provide oversight to and pose credible challenge.

- Facilitate periodic AML governance updates to the senior management committee- s/forums related to the significant KYC/ AML issues.

- AML advisory on AML New Product risk assessments for the launch of new products/ product variants/changes to an existing product.

- Exercise the second line of defense responsibilities through effective AML risk management.

- Partnering with business for regulatory examinations, internal reviews including managing exam preparation and deliverables, drafting responses to observation/findings and tracking execution of corrective action plans for all audit and review for internal (IA & MCA) and external auditors (RBI).

- Partner for development of the AML training module covering the local regulatory requirements to supplement the online Global AML training module

- Imparting AML training sessions as per training units plan

Skills:

- Knowledge of Control procedures

- Eye for detail

- Sound understanding of RBI regulations

- Ability to foresee risks and challenges

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Certifications :

AML certifications preferable-

Other :

- Expertise in advanced excels and macros preferred.
