This role is responsible for driving key enterprise focused HR priorities in India. As the Market HR Manager in the market, this role will focus on initiatives within and across the 4 platforms on the MCP -

- Local Talent Planning

- Colleague Engagement & Advocacy

- Colleague Development

- One AXP

- This role collaborates with the Centers of Expertise to drive a consistent and positive colleague experience. This role reports to the Director of Market HR, India.

Key Responsibilities:

- Leads the deployment of the India Market Colleague Plan in collaboration with the Centers of Expertise (CoEs) and the Market HR team

- Works across all business units in the market to drive a One American Express people agenda

- Owns and leads key work-streams in partnership with business leaders

- Supports business and geographic integration by applying local expertise to translate into strategy and plans relevant to the market

- Provides insight in the creation of the India Market Colleague Plan (MCP)

- Responsibilities are organized under the following four areas:

1. Local Talent Planning

- Plays a key role in leading talent planning and execution for first level executive and below roles in the India market (with CoE and HRBP support, as needed).

- Drives high potential talent management with a view on supporting career growth and planning

- Partners with the Talent Acquisition team to build future capabilities to drive the American Express business in the market

2. Colleague Engagement

- Drives a consistent colleague experience for HR products and services through collaborating with CoEs and the Global Strategic Capabilities and Servicing function

- Drives relevant and impactful market level colleague engagement initiatives and works with local leaders to address gaps

- Supports strategic external employer branding initiatives to position AmEx India as an employer of choice as well as undertakes internal branding at the market level

3. Colleague Development

- Partners with Global Talent, Leadership and Learning COE to provide insights in designing and deploying leadership and development programs for colleagues in the market

- Develops colleague career growth and development strategy and plans to retain talent, and enable broader career opportunities for colleagues within the market and cross-functionally

- Supports colleague networks, global and locally driven initiatives to foster career growth and development

4. One AXP

- Drive the Inclusion and Diversity strategy for the market, in partnership with global stakeholders Partner with relevant stakeholders in deploying and activating our Colleague Value Proposition (CVP)


- MBA with over 6 years of HR generalist experience

- Experience in core HR activities and business facing role, people consulting is a plus

- Shows awareness and knowledge of employment and labor environment in the market

- Possesses strong business acumen, demonstrating a keen interest in understanding the business, market trends

- Builds relationships and leverages them to drive outcomes

- Ability to work in a matrix environment with influencing and conflict-resolution & project management skills

Excellent communication skills; able to tailor messages to the audience as well as present to senior leaders (local & global)

- Experience in leading and implementing change management

- Keen focus on delivering consistent and positive colleague experience

- Able to deal with ambiguity in shifting environments.
