We are looking for the Principal Software Engineer to join our Core Services Portfolio and help accelerate the transformation of our Egencia platform. Egencia is an innovative technology travel platform and our group powers the core components of this platform. We are a true global team operating from our development centers in France, India and US. We support millions of transactions per second and help our platform scale with the eventual goal of having these services become completely configurable and extensible - the LEGO block approach to allow extensibility of our platform across Travel ecosystem.

The Principal, Software Development Engineer is the key global leadership position within our team to bring thought leadership and extensive technology experience, allowing us to accelerate on our journey as unrivalled SaaS platform for Corporate Travel.

Who You Are and what you will do in this role:

Be a leader with vision.

- As one of the senior most technical minds in the India Development Center, influence our technical evolution journey by pushing the boundaries of possibilities and demonstrating its value.

- Technology leader with 16-20 years (at least 80% hands on experience should be in the deep technology architecture and engineering domain) of experience and deep understanding of building modern technology platforms.

Be a Technical Leader:

- Architecting large scale transaction processing systems, architecting solutions with large number of integrations with third party systems, building and supporting large scale applications on cloud.

- Experience of architecting & building core capabilities of SaaS Platform - Open API Platform, Connectors/Plug-Ins, Marketplaces, Service Mesh, Entitlement, Company/Organization Profile, User Profile, Payment, Checkout, Invoice, Fees etc.

- Participate regularly in code and design reviews, drive technical prototypes and actively contribute to resolving difficult production issues.

- Hands-On Technologist who loves to Code.

- Quick learner and a thought leader in the technology architecture space so that design of platform is futuristic and enables changes as per market needs and advancements in the technology space

- Self-starter who can work with speed and agility in a start-up environment, ability to take ownership and deliver with minimal supervision.

- Ability to articulate architecture principles, design considerations, future roadmap and engage with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to understand the market needs and align the architectural roadmap of the platform in an efficient and cost-effective manner for commercial viability.

What you bring to the Role:

- Have a bachelor's with a minimum of 16+ yrs. of relevant work experience

- Have hands-on experience with leading technology stack - preferably Java

- Have hands-on experience with front-end technology stack like Angular, React

- Have hands-on experience in developing distributed applications using REST services - Spring Boot/Node JS/ .Net technologies

- Have hands-on experience with SQL and NO SQL databases

- Have hands-on experience with AWS/GCP

- A platform mindset with enthusiasm to work in a start up like environment.

- Excellent communicator - Demonstrated ability to succinctly communicate and describe complex technical designs and technology choices both to executives and developers.
