The India operations based out of Bangalore commenced in 2011 and have grown steadily since then. The teams based in Bangalore are working directly with business teams based out of multiple locations in the world. The finance group at Bangalore is supporting businesses in the area of accounting practices, financial control, complex analytical activities, Sox compliance and building a strong financial control environment for the company. The team works on various accounting activities namely, Accounts payables, Accounts Receivables, payroll processes, Fixed Assets, Treasury, Cash management, Intercompany etc. Our continued focus is to strengthen our worldwide engine and provide a strong financial control environment for Amazon.  Position Description: Staff Accountant  Location : Bangalore, India   Timings : 4 PM to 1 AM   Summary of Responsibilities:   - The Staff Accountant/ Manager responsibilities include month end closing activities for multiple payable ledgers and ensure proper review of outstanding amounts due to Amazon, preparation of monthly/quarterly/annually reconciliations and balance sheet analysis.   - This position will support the Management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures and policies.   - On the audit front, Staff accountant will manage department's response to internal and external audit requirements and will also ensure compliance with Sox requirements for all geographies/activities handled by Shared Services.  - This position will also play an important role in promoting systems/process development within department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements.   - The successful candidate will have a strong desire in innovating processes and exceed expectations in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.   Knowledge & Skills/ Business Acumen/ Education & Experience:   - Relevant work experience between 6 to 9 Years.  - A qualified Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant or CPA would be a strong plus.  - Experience in internal & external audits  - Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable or procurement a strong plus  - Strong interpersonal skills - including written and oral communication skills.   - Zeal towards Operational Excellence/Process improvement & simplifications  - Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures, US GAAP knowledge would be plus   - PC literate with advance level excel   - Experience of Oracle/Oracle Payables/Oracle Receivables preferred   - Flexible, adaptable, well organized  - Knowledge of Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (Lean, etc) preferred  - Proactive behavior  - Strong team skills   - Self motivated, enthusiastic and highly energetic
