We- re looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative operations leader to serve as a national central sustainability program manager. This is a new and exciting role within our operations network, designed to execute on Amazon's carbon reduction goals. In this role, you will be the bridge between world-wide sustainability teams & India operations sustainability leaders for all sustainability initiatives. You will partner with packaging, transportation, engineering, energy and other stakeholders to deliver on carbon reduction initiatives, create and execute best practices, and analyze metrics to determine trends and identify actions to improve performance. At the same time you will be centrally responsible for driving periodic reviews, reporting and identifying areas where Amazon India needs to invest in for sustainability efforts. You might also be required to be media trained to represent Amazon India in Sustainability related forums and discussions. This position requires the ability to think big and deliver results, while earning the trust of site leadership, associates, and stakeholders across the entire India operations. To be successful, you will need excellent communication and influencing skills to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders. . In addition, this opportunity requires excellent troubleshooting, problem solving, and the ability to succeed in a fast-paced, operational environment. The ability to work with others and deal with an ambiguous environment is a must. You will have to deliver results across multiple facilities and geographies, which will involve some travel. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, with strong time management and project management skills. The candidate will also have a passion for helping us to identify and promote sustainable best practices at Amazon. In addition to creating an ambitious strategy, you will be work to unify internal and external stakeholders to act in concert towards a common goal. In this role, you will partner internally with operations, compliance, retail, and technical teams and partners externally with suppliers, governmental bodies and nonprofit organizations. This opportunity requires excellent project management skills, the ability to navigate ambiguous environments and a keen eye for detail. You should think constantly about how to effectively measure success using traditional and non-traditional metrics. The Senior Program Manager should be comfortable in both an ambiguous, self-sufficient role, as well as one of team support and interaction. Ownership of work is extremely important, and candidates should have a proven record of working with projects to their completion. The candidate should be motivated, agile, with strong time management and product management skills, and is technical and analytical. 1. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree required in in business or engineering. - Minimum of two (2) years environmental sustainability experience. - Experience/understanding of environmental sustainability drivers, technologies and programs. - Proven written & verbal communication expertise to be able to hold and drive independent discussions at all levels of operational and strategic leadership 2. Preferred Qualifications - MBA and work experience in technical field is highly desired - Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL is a plus - Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously - Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented with the ability to problem solve independently
