Do you want to fundamentally change the way India exports? Do you want your work to have a significant impact on the lives of tens of thousands of MSMEs in India who sell across Amazon's worldwide marketplaces? Does solving complex problems excite you?

- The program leader would need to forge partnerships across multiple agencies that are critical to scale exports and improve ease of doing e-commerce exports, such as:


i. Sector specific export promotion councils (EPCs) that represent interests of exporters in that sector and develop the export potential


ii. Sector agnostic trade bodies, which work at a regional / national level to represent - industry- towards trade promotio


iii. Educational institutions that serve as think-tank into foreign trade and provide capability-building services


iv. Banking & NBFCs that enable trade by providing financial assistance to exporters.

- To succeed in this role, the Senior Program Manager would require a deep understanding of the end-to-end regulatory environment for exports and the nuances of B2C ecommerce exports which is an evolving area. (S)he would need to create vision alignment, Internally, the leader would need to collaborate with leaders from Sales, Marketing, Public Policy, Tax, Legal and Public Relations to ensure strategic objectives of program are met.

- You will have an astute understanding of the public policy and regulatory environment, as well as key stakeholders within it.


- You will lead external advocacy efforts, outreach programmes, partnerships, and initiatives in support of the business objectives. You will be able to manage and drive complex projects, and provide clear and confident guidance, including in situations of high ambiguity.


- You will be a confident leader, but are also able to operate collaboratively within wider regional and international structures.

Basic qualifications

- 8+ years of relevant public policy and advocacy experience, e.g. within corporate public policy and government relations, in public administration, trade associations or non-governmental organizations.

- A keen working understanding of policy-making processes and government relations, particularly as they relate to exports compliances, customs and taxation.

- Experience of public policy leadership in consumer-facing, technology or retail companies.

- Experience working at high level and collaboratively in a highly-matrixed environment, alongside teams including Legal, PR, and business teams.

- Written and spoken fluency in English

- Project management experience.

- A track record of highest integrity and public policy success.

Preferred qualifications

- An advanced degree in area of study relevant to the role.

- Experience in cross border e-commerce policy advocacy

- Public speaking experience.

- Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English and Hindi.

- A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.

- Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

- Capable of confidently using experience and data to assess and recommend a best course of action even in an ambiguous situation.
