Senior Program Manager Job summary : Amazon Distribution wants to create the lowest cost B2B supply chain for brands to get their products to neighborhood stores. This is like a startup within Amazon developing an entirely new set of core capabilities for Amazon in India. The mission is to improve the livelihood of neighborhood store-owners and through them improve accessibility of goods to the offline shopper in Tier I, II and III towns of India. B2B distribution using e-commerce (selling supplies to offline stores) is a growing (greater than 80% CAGR), large ($-Trillion) and multi-category (FMCG, Apparel, footwear, devices etc) opportunity. In terms of maturity, it is similar to where B2C e-commerce was in India in 2010 or WW e-commerce was in early 2000s. While large and exciting, it also a highly complex space where experienced, entrepreneurial leaders with a strong work ethics will create Amazon and world-wide first products and processes in areas of customer acquisition, order-solicitation, selection curation, pricing and fulfillment. What is expected from the individual? : 1. Ability to work with large data, dive-deep, identify issues - analytical thinking is a must 2. Ability to define project deliverables, timelines and set up mechanisms to track inputs and outputs for the projects; strong communication skills Key job responsibilities : This role will own two key large programs for Amazon Distribution : a. Retailer Credit Management - eligibility of retailers for credit limits/terms, onboarding, driving awareness, usage, collections, risk monitoring, settlements, and reconciliations, b. Retail Automation - stock procurement from vendors, pricing, etc. The role would partner internal stakeholders like Sales & Marketing, Operations, Product, and external vendors/partners to launch and continuously improve these programs. - For both programs, this role would be responsible for creating short/long term plans, defining SOPs/mechanisms, setting goals for own and other stakeholder teams, and driving adoption by leveraging policies, processes, and products. - The role would inform new product development and roadmap prioritization in the respective areas. - Further, this role will own the P&L line items that are impacted by the respective programs, and present to senior leadership on progress/misses for the same. - Apart from these large programs, the role would also have opportunity to contribute across other smaller programs/initiatives within the business/product team depending on the organizational priorities and industry trends. - You won't be restricted/constrained by the charter that has been defined. You will be encouraged and empowered to take up new areas across strategy formulation and execution/implementation. A day in the life : 1. Review business metrics, customer anecdotes, voice of partner teams to identify gaps vs goals or define new problem statements. 2. Conduct meetings with internal and external stakeholders, brainstorm/followup to keep making progress on identified problems 3. Analyze data, formulate hypothesis, conduct deep dives to derive actionable insights. 4. Occasionally, present new opportunities to leadership as crisp documents to ask for resourcing and prioritisation (if needed) 5. Review upcoming plans with leadership in Monthly/Quarterly reviews and lead partner teams in solutioning for the most efficient method to deliver on the plans. About the team : - Amazon Distribution is chasing a $1T B2B offline-retail opportunity to re-invent the distribution infrastructure in India. - We are a different and a standalone platform from the rest of Amazon.in business with our own software stack, dedicated operations team and a dedicated tech/category/sales team. - Quite naturally, you would hit roadblocks, get mired in smaller issues on a daily basis. But this team operates like a small start up within Amazon and empowers everyone to think big and think long term. This means that you will have far more flexibility to implement your ideas than the rest of Amazon. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : 1. 5+ years in program management, operations, payments, supply chain or category management 2. Proven track record of owning and delivering projects/programs that span across multiple years 3. Proven track record of working with multi-functional stakeholders. 4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills 5. Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
