Amazon India Customer Insights team is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager . The Consumer Insights and Lifecycle marketing team furthers the online shopping journey for our customers by defining shopper lifecycle states, developing paths through these states, and builds experiences that enable customers to migrate to higher states of engagement. Our lifecycle state and migration path framework evaluates customer actions on and off Amazon to better understand how customers behave and which experiences we should expose them to at a given point in time.

Ours is a multi-functional team of product/program managers, marketing managers and business intelligence engineers. We are looking to hire a Sr. Marketing Manager who will develop strategies to acquire and engage New to Amazon customers. This is a high visibility role that requires you to bring agile experimentation, data integrity, and business maturity to achieve customer engagement goals for target cohorts. You will also present customer engagement plans to executive leadership team.


In ideal candidate will demonstrate:

- Customer obsession and passion for understanding customer behavior, engagement and growth through data and customer anecdotes

- Ability to synthesize vast and disparate data points, develop key insights on customer experience, highlight gaps (if any) and design experiments across cross-functional teams that target customer segments to shop on Amazon

- Curiosity, and ability to quickly learn, deliver and react to detailed assessment of triggers and barriers for growth in different customer cohorts, and demographic segments

- The role also requires hands-on program management, excellent stakeholder management skills and curiosity to keep learning as we venture into new opportunity areas.

Responsibilities include:

- Set and achieve goals for customer engagement for first time shoppers

- Identify barriers to engagement including barriers in the core-shopping flow. Make actionable recommendations across business, and product experiences to address these barriers and influence action

- Develop a roadmap of experiments to acquire and engage first time shoppers across different proficiency layers of online retail journey. Evaluate if differential treatments are needed for cohorts such as women, young adults, tier 2 - 4 cities, etc.

- Develop and present annualized impact for experiments, and launch successful experiments into evergreen campaigns.

- Collaborate in lockstep across teams and publish timely business updates and customer insights

- Evaluate and publish the impact of customer actions (engagement and transaction) to develop strategies for acquisition and engagement

- Develop and publish insights based on industry and market research to assess gaps in our customer and business segments and identify new product / business initiatives to create a prioritized roadmap of investments

- Lead monthly leadership reviews with key trends, insights, and actions / strategic initiatives to mitigate risks and further growth

- Develop working backwards documents for customer experiences based on quarterly insights / trends; own a roadmap of key initiatives that will improve customer acquisition and engagement.

- Build mechanisms that allow different teams to streamline their efforts. Work with the BI team to build out a scalable tracking infrastructure and identifies opportunities to increase acquisition or engagement

Basic qualifications :

- Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

- Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

- Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements

- Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal with stakeholders

- 5+ years of marketing experience

- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems independently with an extreme attention to detail

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrated success in setting and achieving growth and retention targets for customer engagement

- Demonstrated success in simplifying complexity, and presenting clear unambiguous insights into customer behavior and its impact on the business

- Demonstrated success in earning trust and credibility through presenting and influencing with the right data points and interpretation

- Demonstrated success in holding a high bar for data integrity

Preferred qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree: Any

- Master's degree / MBA from Tier 1 B-school.

- Total work experience, 7+ years with at least 5+ post-MBA experience (preferred)

- Understanding of customer insights / behavioral economics

- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders and demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross functional teams across geographies and business units
