Senior Manager, FinOps Accounting
Amazon seeks a Senior Manager, FinOps Accounting to be a key partner in the Finance Operations (FinOps) organization. This is very exciting time as we launch new business lines and tools. This position will be a key business partner with Central Accounting, Internal Audit, Global process owners from Global Accounts Payable, Global Payroll and Global Accounts Receivable departments.

Key Responsibilities :
- Report on the financial and business performance and lead in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reviews
- Lead and drive special projects, e.g., new business launch integration with FinOps
- Manage the analysis and testing of new business or tool launches
- Lead the offshore reconciliation teams and collaborate with onshore stakeholders and ensure consistent and high quality delivery of processes
- Benchmark the quality of existing practices in accounting, controls, SOX compliance with industry best and continuously raise the bar on performance of teams
- Influence business decision by effective verbal and written communication, data driven analysis, and presentation of alternatives
- Act as a liaison between Finance Operations and Global Accounting
This role requires a self-starter with a strong technical accounting background, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations, and solid skills in data mining and business intelligence. This role has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Basic Qualifications :
- 12+ years of relevant experience
- B.Com / MBA Finance degree required with major in Accounting
- Familiarity with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience with documenting accounting conclusions
Preferred Qualifications :
- CA/CPA (or equivalent)
- Big 4 public accounting experience with Fortune 500 clients
- Operational accounting experience with one or more Fortune 500 companies
- Experience working in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-up
- Experience working in shared services environment
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills (SQL skills highly desired)
- Oracle experience
