- One of the key components of Amazon's strategy is bringing new customers to Amazon, while building the brand Amazon. In order to do so, Amazon operates across a wide portfolio of marketing channels, including but not limited to offline mass advertising, SEM and SEO, affiliation, email marketing, display and social media. We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead the marketing effort for the India consumer business for the mass marketing channel. The marketing leader will maximize and optimize traffic, new customers and brand health through the management of mass marketing channels and initiatives.


- This role is based in Bangalore and serves on the senior management team for the XCM. The incumbent will additionally work closely with the peers across the Asia Pacific & Emerging region. As a marketing leader at XCM for our Embrace Amazon Big-Rock, you'll join a unique cadre of senior marketing leaders who own and drive our most important global advertising initiatives (which we call - Big-Rocks ). 


- You empathetically obsess over your customer and serve them in their journey to make Amazon their first port of call for online shopping. 


- Your north star will be to deliver the most measured, the most scalable, and the most breakthrough mass communications for acquiring new customers and building brand Amazon. With the acumen of a business owner, you'll work across business teams to develop the integrated marketing plan (IMP), collaborating with product, media, creative, research, measurement, and brand portfolio/planning partners. You with your team will own our marketing and advertising strategy, campaign development management, communication briefs, brand planning, media strategies including digital, partner relationships with external agencies and internal stakeholders, and the successful delivery of efficient advertising. 


- The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leading marketing function and teams. They will need to grasp the big picture quickly, create ambitious goals for the team, input into the design of marketing strategy and communicate the strategies to achieve these goals, and inspire and mentor the team. They will also need to inspire confidence and quickly build credibility with business partners. Finally, they will need to operate at all levels, from executive engagement to executing alongside their team. 


- Sr. Manager, Marketing - XCM - Acquisition and Brand, the marketing leader will have a deep understanding of marketing in general and a solid track record of marketing achievements. 


- They will be responsible for clearly communicating strategy, and devising execution priorities for the team. They will develop a detailed understanding of customer behavior and understand the financial impact of long term customer trends including, but not limited to, the growth of e-commerce generally and the transition to online shopping. 


- They will also have the ability to advocate on behalf of their customer with product teams to ensure we build and improve products and features, making them relevant for the customer. Specifically, the responsibilities of the role include:

- Develop and implement a communications strategy (communications architecture) that defines the right place and time for the target to receive the message including a deep understanding of consumer behaviors that will result in optimal receptivity to the message.


 - Integrated Marketing Plan to outline annual marketing strategy, updated and presented regularly. 


- Communications plans that result in bar raising creative and media plans that deliver on success metrics 


- Working Backwards Documents to support the development of new communications, media, partnership or product innovations. 


- Partnering with media and digital teams to identify new /emerging channels and integrations that can be used to achieve campaign objectives and drive efficient lift. Developing Media briefs, and ensuring effective media plans.


 - Ensuring effective Measurement Plans Basic Qualifications - 12 or more years of relevant experience in Marketing - Master's degree in business, economics, marketing or a similar field.


 - Experience conceiving and executing marketing strategies and plans; strong preference for leading CPG companies in the B2C space and online marketing. 


- Experience working with stakeholders on customer insights, media and brand planning teams.


 - Experience building and leading a team. 


- Proven ability to coach and develop team members. 


- Excellent written and oral communication skills - ability to articulate ideas and persuade stakeholders. 


- Excellent business judgment and strategic aptitude. Bias towards data-based decision making. Strong analytical skills and ability to derive actionable conclusions from large data sets. 


- Strong operational skills. Adept at understanding, deconstructing, streamlining and optimizing complex large-scale business processes. - Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done. 


Preferred Qualifications - People leader - 3-5 years of Sales experience - 12 or more years of relevant experience in Marketing


 - Master's degree in business, economics, marketing or a similar field 


- Experience conceiving and executing marketing strategies and plans; strong preference for leading CPG companies in the B2C space and online marketing.


 - Experience working with stakeholders on customer insights, media and brand planning teams. 


- Experience building and leading a team. Proven ability to coach and develop team members. 


- Excellent written and oral communication skills - ability to articulate ideas and persuade stakeholders.
