About the Program The Brand Direct team has a mission is to build the most effective platform for motivated entrepreneurs to establish & scale consumer-direct brands in India, thereby allowing us to provide high-quality selection, at the best prices to our end customers. We will achieve this by providing a suite of marketing services and self-service tools that span the entire lifecycle of a Brand, spanning Discovery, Consumer Insights, Selection, Pricing, Fulfillment, and Brand Protection & Exclusive Privileges. First of our solutions for private label brands is Amazon Select (www.amazon.in/select). We are focused on building multiple brand focused programs which enable the different segment of brand owners and plug specific selection gaps for Amazon Customers. About the Role We are looking for a hands-on, detail oriented and highly motivated business development leader to help drive the business development & early success mandate for one of the new private label programs focused on the Softlines business. In addition to this, the candidate will lead strategic projects and hold responsibility for planning and business reporting. The candidate will need to actively collaborate with internal stakeholders (Category Managers, Category BDMs, Direct Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Advertising) as well as external stakeholders (External brand accelerators, VC firms, Social Media influencers) to identify and capitalize on synergies that can drive program adoption and service delivery. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer engagement and communication skills as well as the technical understanding to drive deals across all stakeholders The position is based at the Amazon India headquarters in Bangalore and will involve occasional travel for acquisition and business development discussions with brands owners, regional manufacturer association's et al. Role and Responsibilities: - Own and drive the end to end business development & early success mandate for brands in your category(s) by driving requisite inputs. - Drive alignments with partner teams & stakeholders as required during the course of the program to drive inputs for your brands - Prospect and acquire medium to a large seller and manufacturer brands in your respective category (s) by strategic outreach, and liaising with partner teams like Category BDMs, Sales or external brand accelerators. - Build and maintain a robust business development pipeline. - Lead strategic projects and programs for the business, which drive brand success or value for Amazon Customers - Conduct weekly performance meetings to analyze trends, shifts, spikes/dips for the brand consultant's portfolios. Basic Qualifications - MBA or equivalent post-graduation, with 6-7 years of experience in Category Management, Sales or Business Development. - Experience in a highly analytical, results-oriented environment with external customer interaction required. - Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to manage the business by the numbers. Must be metrics-driven. - Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly. - Demonstrated active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions-oriented. Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience in e-commerce or consumer product companies in the apparel industry is a plus. - Prior experience influencing C-level executives is a plus. - Ability to "work smart, move fast and work hard"! - Be comfortable with - hands-on- day-to-day problem solving, implementing quick and effective action plans to meet short-term priorities. Equally comfortable in generating a 3-year strategic vision and a weekly sales report.
