Come join us! A day in the life : - We're seeking an experienced Sr. Operations/Release Manager to join our team in Bangalore. This role is responsible and accountable for daily release operations, creating a culture of customer obsession, high performance and high quality throughput. With operations/team managers and program managers as direct reports this role enables the achievement of service levels, performance & cost goals and successful program implementation. - As the Mgr of ML Data Ops, you are responsible for the performance management, goal setting and career development of their line reports to ensure effective succession planning is in place. You work in an ever-changing environment where every day brings ambiguously defined problems, new challenges and new opportunities. You will do much more than manage the operations team. - You will own the end-to-end customer release experience and channel the requirements to improve the service performance, scalability and reliability. Key job responsibilities : Job responsibilities : - Drive continuous improvements to the release process while keeping an extremely high bar on customer trust, performance, and availability - Track metrics around quality and productivity and enhance the operational efficiency of the team - Create a culture where accountability, transparency and collaboration are the norm and where rapid deep dives into root causes of defects is a standard operating practice - Inspire front line teams to go beyond the standard "call of duty" to find creative solutions for our product issues; encourage risk-taking and advocacy on behalf of product teams. - Create closed-loop feedback processes where data associates are encouraged to be active participants in identifying opportunities for improvements to customer experience, workplace conditions, and internal tools. - Work with engineering and science managers to clearly articulate feature requirements for associate tool sets, user interfaces, and business logic for the efficient handling of work volumes. - Foster the career development of your team members and create a coaching culture across the team where formal and informal coaching opportunities are availed of - Partner with senior management as well as with colleagues from science, engineering and business backgrounds to drive business continuity, unblocking teams when required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS : - Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements - 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams - 5+ years of experience in program or project management - 5+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects - Experience in people management - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Operations related fields - Relevant experience in a management role in a technical/customer service/data operations environment - Technical and analytical; will have a strong focus on operational excellence and quality management - Experience with people management and operations leadership - Familiar with delivering projects using Agile / Scrum methodologies - Proven ability to work in a dynamic, ambiguous environment, meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads, and ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : - Knowledge in Natural Language Understanding and prior work experience with Machine Learning is a plus - Experience with Alexa Skills development - Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts - Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast pace environment - Rich experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) - Experience in leading speech data operations - Knowledge of software development best practices - Sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results. - Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams, communicate with global teams in operational roles to accomplish goals - Experience in developing future leaders and creating tailored succession plans - Skilled in building relationships with various stakeholders
