Amazon is seeking Area Manager for its Hyperlocal Business Prime Now. Roles and Responsibilities: In this role you will be responsible for managing the ultrafast hyperlocal business for Amazon Now for designated regions in Bangalore. The manager will be responsible for the operation of the region - consisting of 10-15 stores, right from the inception stage. He will set up the distribution chain, hire, train the team; and finally run the multi-layer operation for the region. Typical responsibilities will include: - Execute Complex Daily Operation to ensure customer promise for the ultrafast operation. - Own the performance metrics for the Region Operation - Understand the Operational needs quickly to innovate and simplify the distribution chain so as to have better Customer Experience at agreed SLA and Cost - Manage a team of 5-6 Supervisors and 100+ off role associates and service partners - Map business requirements, understand business process, study and analyze workflows, design solutions and prepare functional specifications - Be data driven, develop and report performance metrics, executive updates, forecasting, budgeting and analysis to identify potential opportunities for improving Customer Experience. - Deep dive and acquire an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices and apply when solving business problems. - Design, develop, pilot & rollout enterprise wide programs around performance improvement, cycle time improvement for returns, delivery experience, financial auditing, identification of alternate delivery services etc. Additional responsibilities may include: - Developing standard operating procedures. - Direct accountability for setting and meeting operational goals, strategic planning and forecasting - Leading process improvements - Travel across Stores / Regions so as to ensure smooth operation and team control Essential Functions - Operations Execution Skill - Team Management - Data driven approach - Performance Metrics Ownership - Cost Ownership - Optimizing performance of the network - Ensure enough bandwidth in citywide delivery team to ensure peak time delivery management - Continuously improve the delivery process and attain a sustained level of delivery performance improvement - Analysis of the data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve the performance - Implement the formal process control and process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen Essential Skills - Strong leadership capabilities and people management skills - Strong execution skills, Action oriented, go getter - Resourceful to identify the way to get things done using limited resources - Ability to work under pressure situations - Ability to work in ambiguous situations and to come out with solutions as per the situations faced Demonstrated Abilities: We are looking for smart and analytical people with strong execution capabilities, who are passionate about operations, to join the Amazon Now Operations team at Amazon India. This role is for those candidates who thrive on driving change, building an operation and leading through others, by giving them a direct management assignment in our Operations Services and Technology Centers. Ideal candidates for this program are expected to have high level of ownership, strong team management and engagement skill. Basic Qualifications - Any Graduation - Experience in Logistics field (courier industry) / FMCG/ Food Chain/ Retail field highly preferred - People management experience. Experience in handling external and multiple stakeholders including team, vendors, clients, field executives is highly desirable - Experience in handling live operation preferred (wherein troubleshooting and decisions have to be taken on the spot) Preferred Qualifications Master of Business Administration (MBA) - Experience supporting customers internally and externally - Experience to run a Hyperlocal business / QSR chains or any similar ground operations with high complexity and expectation is desirable. - Local execution experience for Bangalore will be desirable
