Desired candidate profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/Accounting or any equivalent degree
- 2+ years of experience in US payroll process.
- Should have US B1 Visa
- CPP certification preferred
- Should have transition experience.
- Experience with multi-state payroll tax filing, automated payroll and accounting software required
- Experience with PeopleSoft preferred
- Should have experience in managing a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, auditors, and regulatory entities.
- Ability to read and interpret payroll reports, professional journals, and government regulations
- Excellent written and vocal English language skills are a must, including strong interpretation skills
- Should be willing to work in 4 PM to 1 AM shift.
Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day activities of assigned payroll staff in providing quality payroll services at assigned locations
- Oversee the completion of all payroll activities necessary to produce accurate payroll checks voluntary and involuntary deductions, and reports
- Ensure payroll activities are being completed in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental policies and procedures
- Ensure documentation of all payroll activities and necessary forms, reports, etc. are filed in an organized and timely manner
- Properly interpret, support and communicate to subordinates approved payroll, corporate, and departmental policies and procedures including keeping up-to-date on applicable federal, state and international wage and hour and tax laws
- Review internal controls for consistency and to ensure controls are being followed by subordinate staff
- Ensure adequate staffing at assigned locations including coordinating with appropriate Human Resources department for recruitment, hiring, and orientation
- Ensure on-the-job-employee training is effectively conducted for subordinate staff
- Provide input to the Assistant Director regarding the respective portion of the annual budget in a detailed, accurate, and timely manner
- Monitor overtime of assigned staff ensuring the adherence to departmental policies and procedures
- Review the monthly variance reports resolving any discrepancies
- Should handle a mid-size team, Coach, develop, and mentor subordinates to achieve quality performance
