Roles and Responsibilities

The Investment Professional (Analyst/Associate) will be involved across the entire lifecycle of investing including sourcing, diligence, deal execution, portfolio management and exit. In addition, the individual will be expected to contribute to firm building and fund support activities.

1. Investment Management

- Sourcing and screening transactions

- Proactively identifying companies that are in line with the fund's investment thesis

- Initiating / leading conversations with founding teams, intermediaries and other stakeholders

- Coordinating industry research involving both primary and secondary research

- Progressing shortlisted transactions

- Deep diving into the diligence - including strategic and business diligence, financial analysis, support for legal and accounting diligence

- Co-ordinating with due diligence agencies appointed by the firm on the due diligence processes.

- Facilitating the investment decision including interpretation of analysis and arriving at recommendations

- Transaction closure

- Working with various stakeholders to complete documentation and deal execution

2. Portfolio Management

- Working closely with founding team of each of the portfolio companies to

- Identifying core sources of value creation

- Formulating growth strategies and other priority initiatives

- Reviewing growth plans / MIS / Budget and other such collaterals at regular intervals

3. Firm building and Fund Support activities

- Being central to building and exhibiting the core values of the firm

- Fostering a fun working environment alongside the rest of the senior leadership team

- Provide inputs for the fund's strategy, risk mitigation and any challenges that the firm will face while operating in a fast-growing and dynamic marketplace

- Contributing to grow the learning and development agenda of the firm

- Building and updating an in-house knowledge database for different healthcare sub-sectors

- Provide support for investor relations

- Becoming the brand ambassador for Alkemi

Our candidate

Our candidate is someone with a lot of energy, analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to execute in an ambiguous environment. In addition, we're looking for someone with:

- For associates; MBA from tier I institutes / CA or equivalent

- For analysts: Undergraduate degree from a top tier institution

- 3-6 years of experience in either Investment banking / Private Equity / Consulting or an experience of having worked / ran a start up

- Healthcare experience would be a plus, though not mandatory

- Strong Analytical, research and valuation skills, including ability to analyse company reports, sector data, economics and relevant macro events.

- Good Report writing, Presentation preparation & Financial Modelling skillsets and advanced knowledge of Excel is critical

- Good business communication and presentation skills required

- Ability to build & sustain relationships is important

- High level of drive and entrepreneurial instinct, attention to detail, self-starter

- The candidate will report directly to the Managing Partners of the firm.
