We are looking to hire a smart and sharp Associate Product Manager who is Independent, Entrepreneurial, Knowledgeable, Personable, Experienced, Proactive (has Initiative taking ability / is a self-starter), has Leadership skills/ability, and doesn- t require much guidance to execute on directions/requirements (self-learner). This position is within the team of an Investment Management System product - a software product which is used to manage various kinds of investments (especially private equity investments), and documents and workflows related to the investments, and to generate various kinds of reports and dashboards and analyses.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- The selected individual shall assist the leaders in defining functional requirements and acceptance criteria based on business requirements / high-level feature requirements

- Support the PO/PM (Product Owner / Product Manager) in creation of marketing collaterals and marketing plan, and assist in sales and market pitches

- Help in the gathering of business requirements and prioritization of features. Be a part of the process of gathering and analyzing business requirements from the business leaders and clients/customers, and document them fully, and work on converting the business requirements into functional requirements.

- Aid in defining the packages and the pricing models for the product, and make sure that we are building the right product to address the needs of the market

- Helps in minimizing the gap between the market needs (customer needs) and the product being developed in-house, by constantly analyzing the business and the system, doing surveys and interviews of various potential and existing customers, etc.

- Identifies potential customers and clients, and contacts them through various marketing techniques (with help of a marketing team member, or freelancer or an agency)

- Supports the PO in defining the long-term roadmap of the product (or suite of products)

Measure: Build rigorous tools that define success metrics and track initiative performance on a monthly basis

Decision support: Provide recommendations supported by thorough research and analysis to increase financial performance across key business areas

Skills / Experience Required :

3+ years experience as an investment analyst/associate, with a private equity (or diversified portfolio) investment management firm.

Preferred (not mandatory) : 3+ years experience as a business analyst/system analyst, aiding/assisting in defining business requirements and translation of business requirements into system requirements (technical requirements/specification).

- Total 5+ years of experience in the investment & software industry combined.

- Engineering from a reputed Institute. Or, BA / BS degree, in finance, economics, or quantitative field, from a reputed institute.

- Preferred (not mandatory): MBA from a reputed institute. Or, equivalent certification from a reputed institute.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship management skills

Proactive and leadership quality - doesn- t require much guidance in completing assigned tasks/goals

- Excellent knowledge of the Investments domain - Private Equity (necessary), Venture Capital, Listed Securities, Real Estate, Public Markets (Public Stocks), Debt Investments (Fixed Income Instruments/Assets), Alternative Investments

- Excellent Knowledge and Experience in working with software/systems/products in the Investment Management domain / space (like eFront (FrontPM, etc.), Investran (FIS Global product), Dynamo Software, FundCount, Ipreo iLevel, Private-i (from Burgiss software), Preqin (earlier Baxon), AltaReturn, etc.).

- Must have used/worked with at least one of the above-mentioned systems thoroughly (preferably a system related to Private Equity Investments Management), and have a deep understanding of the same (product/system).

- Excellent ability/experience in creating business requirements documents, functional requirements (system requirements), business plan, marketing plan, marketing collaterals (presentations), product roadmap, product vision,

- Ability to understand business requirements from customers/business-people, and ability to translate those requirements into technical requirements, and ability to test/QA/review the system developed based on those requirements.

Business case development : Can Develop business cases (business models) for new products, and can pitch in the marketing, and sales efforts

Financial modeling : Can Own and review financial models designed to support business development deals and other ad-hoc initiatives

- Knowledge of SQL and/or other data extraction tools. Knowledge of statistical packages such as R or SAS will be a plus

- 3+ years of experiences in a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), management consulting, investment banking, or business analytics environment will be a plus.

- Experience analyzing complicated data and communicating resulting insights in a simple manner.

- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced (startup) environment. Knowledge of growth hacking and digital marketing is a plus.
