Position Title General Manager - Insurance
Position Summary:
- Strives to implement global best practices in the fields of aviation and non-aviation insurance.
- Sets processes of the department and is responsible for implementation of the departmental processes. Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable regulations and legislation.
Key responsibilities:
- Understanding and analyzing risk profile related to insurance and keeping the profiling current
- Highlighting uninsured risks to Management and making recommendations
- Designing of insurance program in line with risk assessment, contractual requirements and corporate policies
Liaise and follow-up with:
- Brokers
- Underwriters
- Surveyors
- Claims managers of insurers respective departments for claims documentation and premium payments
- Lessors wherever required
- Insurance life cycle management
- Negotiation with underwriters, brokers, TPA and various insurance vendors and intermediaries
- Presentation of Risk to Insurers
- Meeting with insurers, brokers and other intermediaries
- Benchmarking of premium vis-a-vis competition
- Review, comparison and recommendations
- Review of insurance contracts
- Data Base Management of Premium and claims
- Insurance Premium Calendar Management
Desired Qualification / certifications
- Graduate and above, Understanding of Aviation Insurance
- Masters / Diploma / Certification in Insurance (good to have)
Preferred relevant work experience
- 10+ years of work experience, aviation experience is preferred
- Sound exposure to concepts of insurance life cycle and exposure to insurance relative to lease of aircraft
- Well versed with commercial negotiations and contract finalization
- Familiarity of aviation insurance requirements
- Having lead a team of 2-3 professionals
- Good team player
