Airtel - IT Hardware Role (6-8 yrs)
- MBA (or equivalent) in Technology or Engineering
- 6-8 years of relevant experience in sourcing/procurement of various IT hardware, including strategic supplier selection, contracting, renewals, software strategy life planning and costing, OEM shortlisting, IT Infra. capacity procurement and its architecture.
- Mandatory experience of driving project management, synergy initiatives, supplier selection, negotiations, purchase order management, contracts negotiation, supplier management, E-Sourcing (Oracle)
- Act as a point for sourcing of equipment sourcing for IT Hardware including servers, storages, switches, Racks & other accessories.
- Collaborate with suppliers to optimize the total cost of ownership
- Introduce, develop, and continuously improve best-in-class sourcing techniques, strategies, incentives, and practices with a focus on risk management and project savings
- Tender requests for proposals, review and level-set vendor proposals, and negotiate contracts that result in the best value possible
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to manage the vendor due-diligence process for new vendors
- Work with and assist engineering in developing statement of works for equipment contracts and requests for proposals
- Work with internal and external resources to stay informed on potential policy changes impacting current and future procurement strategies
- Manage and efficiently communicate risk of long-term supply contracts (e.g., credit exposure, commodities, technology, performance, etc)
- Develop leading metrics and indices to manage supply/demand including commodity pricing, interest rates, exchange rates, manufacturing capacity, and other market signals
- Develop and manage a technology and cost database for equipment including long-term technology and cost forecasts
- Maintain a database of current technical and non-technical documentation
