Principal Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

- Leads technical decisions in the company. Owns at least one large, mission critical project or multiple complex, team-level projects. Solves complex, mission critical problems with an approach that lasts.

- Foresee and makes improvements in stability, performance and scalability and ensures the product is ahead of the curve through cogent architectural and design decisions

- Actively collaborates with other functional areas to design and build solutions. Proposes and prioritize projects and guides future planning for the company. Recognizes when an approach has outlived its usefulness and figures out correct way forward.

- Leads initiatives across functional areas. Leads by example and inspires others with an emphasis on-board, organization wide initiatives. Build leaders within the team and functional areas.

- Actively works to recruit strong engineers for the company.

- Leads conversations about direction of major areas of technology and corrals diverse opinions to arrive at consensus. Leads Communication on how a system is meant to interact with other systems, tech dependencies, tech risks.

- Leads communication between tech audiences and non-tech audiences.

- Establish software engineering best practices in the space of Quality & Automation, CI/CD, Delivery, Architecture & Designs and ensure that they are met in projects; create solution/framework to streamline the process.

- Assist in maintenance and upgrades of existing software applications.

- Ensure good quality of code by conducting design reviews and recommend improvements.

- Provide trainings and mentor other engineers when required.

- Analyze and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion.

- Work with other engineers in planning, prioritizing and executing assigned tasks within deadlines.

- Bring a vision of innovation and empower team members towards a sense of innovation as part of parcel of everyday work.

- Actively contributes to development community with articles, blogs etc

- Exposure to Intellectual Property creation and contribution to Open Source community is a plus

- Principal Engineer Requirements and Qualifications

- Exposure to Agile/Scrum Methodologies

- Excellent hands on experience on various Design, architecture & Coding and must be actively doing it

- Excellent background in many of the latest technologies & languages which include javascript and related frameworks, Python, Go, Java, Cloud,Automation etc. Must have ability to understand the differences (pros/cons) of these technologies, how they can be applied to solve what problems.

- Must have implemented seamless CI/CD end to end to achieve one click delivery. Must know all the nitigrities of the CI/CD, associated challenges and how to fix them.

- Nice to have Good exposure on Machine Learning and ability to connect the customer experience driven models with Software engineering

- Should have lead multiple initiatives across functional areas
