ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
OPTIMISING PRODUCTION:
- Ensure production is realized as per annual target, identify and direct removal of de-bottlenecks areas to achieve more than the rated output.
OPTIMISING COST:
- Ensure optimization of cost and consumption by planning and monitoring areas like raw material etc. with maximum output and quantity.
- Manage and control departmental budgets across all functions ensuring optimum utilization of available resource.
FULFILMENT OF QUALITY & PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:
- Ensure product quality meets the customer standards, delve into customer complaints, and ensure corrective actions are in place.
- Ensure disposition of all audit findings and CAPA implementation.
- Identify and initiate technical projects, programs and plans which leads to improved processes and products.
AVAILABILTY OF PLANT MAINTENANCE:
- Directing and guiding all concerned departments to monitor and facilitate all necessary resources for predictive and preventive maintenance work.
PROCESS EXCELLENCE & COMPLIANCE:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments and functions to drive efficiencies and resource optimization.
- Act as an SME in Process Operations (Moulding, Paint shop & Assembly), New Product Development and Tooling.
- Establish procedure and systems to ensure compliance of all statutory obligations.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
- Develop and sustain an enabling work climate and motivates workforce, ensuring knowledge upgradation, employee growth with best-in-class manufacturing and organizational practices.
- Industrial Relations: Spearhead from the IR front ensuring all IR related issues are duly reported and addressed in a timely manner; whilst ensuring high level of compliance to all statutes. Network with various agencies like vendors, industry bodies, contractors, government bodies etc. for ensuring seamless operation of the facility.
- Span of control: Must have managed manufacturing operations with total manpower strength of not less than 500 people.
SKILL SETS:
1. Extensive knowledge of moulding processes, tooling, moulding equipment and industrialization (Hands on experience in moulding environment is a MUST)
2. Experience of working in large scale mass production environment - High volume moulding/assembly environment.
3. The incumbent will handle large scale manpower - hence scale, understanding of systems and processes, adaptability and agility are important.
4. Strong man-management skills
5. Overall knowledge of P&L management
6. Ability to work in ambiguous situations without any guidance, while navigating through upward and downward communication.
7. Strong prowess in QMS procedures, project management skills, troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
8. Ability to speak in Kannada would be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- 20+ years of experience of operations management in a manufacturing organization; at-least 8-10 years of experience of leading operations in an FMCG set-up.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating teams in production environment.
- Personal leadership style that instils a sense of responsibility amongst peers and direct reports.
- In a nutshell, the candidate should have good exposure on commercial and technical aspect of operations while taking all the constraints into consideration.
