EDF is looking to hire the Advisor in India to help support and manage the Climate Smart Agriculture and Clean Cooking initiatives under the Low-Carbon Rural Development (LCRD) Program. The consultant will work under the guidance of the Chief Advisor, India and will work closely with EDF leadership, staff and consultants to Integrate LCRD work within India strategy and provide guidance and input on EDF's broader work in India. This work seeks to build the evidence base for the climate, income, yield, and nutrition benefits of LCRD and to share these to educate and inform priorities, policies, and practice.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Climate Smart Agriculture

- Conduct outreach and engagement with policymakers in Bihar, national policy makers in New Delhi, other government institutions/bodies, and educational universities EDF is partners with or is building a partnership with on sustainable agriculture policy in India.

- Manage EDF's on-ground engagement with partner(s) in Bihar and Maharashtra under the Climate Smart Agriculture initiative by coordinating across stakeholders, building work plans, resource allocations and timelines.

- Coordinating with the EDF Head Office on administrative requirements and contracts with partner organizations on on-going or new projects/programs.

- Monitoring the progress of these initiatives as per key milestones and timelines defined in the work plan.

- Review the annual reports submitted to EDF on the project progress across on-going projects.

- Facilitate, with partners, development and deployment of assessment tools for monitoring and impact evaluations, including third-party evaluations across the project locations of Bihar and Maharashtra.

- Create and/or assist with communications material on the on-going projects, capturing the progress and impact of these initiatives

- Clean Cooking

- Manage/oversee EDF's on-going partnership building with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand, Gujarat.

- Coordinate with affiliated Ministries, government bodies and Fair Climate Network's (FCN) Tech team on the partnership and program under development.

- Coordinate with the EDF Head Office on the communications and materials required around the agreement and partnership with NDDB and relevant Ministries.

- Assist with and creating reports and communications material on the on-going projects, capturing the progress and impact or potential of these initiatives.

- Assisting partner organizations in building assessment tools and impact evaluations with the NDDB & FCN team and by facilitating third-party evaluations across the states identified for deployment of the biogas work.

- Conducting outreach and engagement with policymakers in states, national policy makers in New Delhi, other government institutions/bodies, and educational universities EDF is partners with or is building a partnership on the Clean Cooking policy in India.

- Participates in advancing EDF DEI goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address the environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values

Must Haves :

- 5-10 years of experience in the corporate or non-profit sectors, including demonstrated ability to manage complex projects

- Masters degree in business, environment, or other relevant field

- Experience and ability to engage with senior government officials on discussions on policy and programs

- Experience managing teams

- Knowledge of the Indian Rural Sector

- Highly effective written and oral communication skills

- Attention to detail and personal organization skills

- Willingness to travel (25-40% of the time) when it is safe to do so

- Proficiency of Microsoft Office suite

- Demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency and inclusivity, and ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders across diverse cultures and backgrounds

- An ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment

- Ability and willingness to work with a global team across multiple time zones, including joining calls beyond normal business hours
