Position: Director- Software Development

Primary Purpose: Be a strategic executional leader for the software development division who shall be a key differentiator in enabling the growth aspirations of the organization by bringing in the technological advantage for organizations business as well as be a lead product development specialist ensuring organization sustains and progresses its technological advantage position with in the US healthcare domain.

Key Job outcomes:

Software Development:

- Ensure progressive development of software products and web applications.

- Effectively construct and implement business product strategy and be a lead in building scalable, secured, enterprise application products.

- Effectively create new strategic direction/s for the company with products designed specifically for long-term.

- Effectively lead all technology initiatives of the company, manage entire technology platform including the strategic planning, development, and implementation - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies and software development best practices

- Ensure QA and Performance engineering responsibilities include certifying new features for releases, define testing & automation strategies, design & develop automation frameworks, implement automated regression suites, setup continuous integration process.

- Define and champion leading software technologies to improve the efficiency, quality, and ease of use of our products and SaaS solutions

- Identify both strategic opportunities and potential threats associated with emerging technologies, and execute software development plans.

- Effectively assist in critical support issues where your experience is required to ascertain the issue quickly and to find the more appropriate resolution.

- To make sure the development team is integrating other team's services efficiently and that they are offering technical input into how all Advantmed services can be delivered and improved.

- Release Engineering responsibilities include managing build & continuous integration process/environments, verifying release criteria for the release candidate builds, delivering the release patch etc.

- Effectively contribute towards reduction of software development life-cycle.

- Demonstrable technical leadership to deliver on-time/on-budget software by accurately estimating software budget and scheduling for various software development stages and releases

- Collaborate with other team members to provides direction for the entire project or a project teams

- Effectively work with technical staff and team leadership to understand problems and come up with the best approach to resolve them.

- Collaborate with product management leadership and oversee product development.

- Manages/leads team to apply and introduce industry advance best engineering practices

- Manage work closely with team leadership, architect and technical staff to understand problems with software and support team for resolving them

- Lead the team for greater solution and responds to suggestions for improvements on the new product

- Effectively apply fundamental skills, concepts and practices to solve difficult assignments.

- Understands capabilities and complexity of environment and manages its scalability/high availability/performance requirements.

- Effectively understand complex business requirements very quickly and architect solutions while paying attention to detail - Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization

- Coach and help develop team members.

- Assure that the team members have the necessary education and training to effectively participate on the team

- Prepare and update Training material, Quick reference sheet, News Letters.

- Strong in executing initiatives toward increasing productivity, system performance, standardization, best practices and maximizing product quality

Work Relations:

Internal:

- Reporting to Vice president - IT/Software and Compliance for all functional as well as admin issues.

- Interfacing with Leadership, Top Management across global offices.

- Interface with Product management team based out of US.

- Interfacing Account management and business development teams based out of US.

- Interfacing with QA, tech-pub, build, localization, performance testing & support team

External:

- Interface with clients and technology vendors.

Qualification:

- B.Tech/ M.Tech (Computer Science) from accredited university.

Experience: 15-16 Yrs., primarily in global IT space. Preferably from a product company. Minimum 3-5 experience years in managing teams of software developers, Business analysts and QA professionals.

Desired Key Expertise for the job:

- Exposure of US healthcare domain is desirable.

- Exceptional, demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office.

- Expert in Agile methods including SCRUM and TDD.

- Advanced level (knowledge and experience) of Microsoft technologies and Project management methodologies

- Experience in application architecture and making rational buy vs. build and interface decisions.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work equally well in self-managed and team based Agile/Scrum projects.

- Demonstrable ability to manage a range of projects types and complex business initiatives and change programs.

- Demonstrable ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

- Proven strong negotiating and consensus building abilities.

- Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.

- Highly self- motivated, self- directed, and attentive to detail.

- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high- pressure environment.
