Client Details

Our client is one of the leading FMCG players worldwide with deep penetration in the India market. Owing to the growth in business and product portfolio in India, they are looking to hire an IR Head at an Associate Director level for India as an individual contributor. This role will report into the HR Head for India.

Description

- Providing leadership and expertise in strategizing IR Practices for India to face IR challenges and be future ready


- Promoting team working and team building culture for Pan India

- Partner with the organization leaders in identifying and building the right behaviour through personal interactions, workshops etc.


- Develop strategies for multi-level grievance redressal mechanism and ensure healthy employee- management relations in the organization


- Design and revamp policies such as employment, compensation, labor relations, employee services, government regulations, and labor contract terms


- Strongly oversee dispute resolution involving employees, management, unions, government agencies, other firms, etc.


- Work closely with the Plant heads to identify issues related to improved work procedures, improving efficiencies and updated personnel policies


- Be prompt in developing labor policies and lead monthly labor management meetings


- Advising management on issues regarding union-management relations, such as contract negotiations, negotiating collective bargaining agreements with the union, as and when required


- Partner with the plant teams for LTS/Compliance & Control related queries


- Analyze wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan to avoid any union risk


- Ensure organization policies comply with factory law


- Liaison with the various statutory bodies like Factory Inspectors Office, local village pradhans, elected union officials and union representatives etc. to ensure smooth functioning of the plants


Profile

- Full time Masters in Law/ Bachelors in Law (BA. LLB/MLS) is a must

- Only 7-10 years of specialist experience in IR. No candidates with more than 10 years of experience will be considered. This is a strong requirement by the client

- Strong IR knowledge with exposure to proactive IR, trade union matters, wage negotiations and settlements, welfare and productivity improvements

- Exposure to handling multiple unionised and non-unionised plants

- Good commercial acumen and ability to build effective internal/external relationships in an ambiguous environment

- Excellent level of communication and interpersonal skills

- Should be able to adapt with a fast moving environment
