About Action Against Hunger:

Since its inception in 1979, Action Against Hunger has led the global fight against hunger. Their work has impacted the lives of 15 million individuals, through a network of 7100 humanitarian professionals across 50 countries. The Indian chapter, founded in 2012, focuses its operations from the grassroots upwards, taking decisive action against the causes and effects of malnutrition. They equip people with knowledge and awareness, so they can see their children grow up strong, and for whole communities to prosper.

About the Role:

Action Against Hunger is looking for somebody to head the various programs on maternal & child health being run across three states currently. Besides managing program operations, as a strategic leader, the incumbent would be a thought partner to the COO for designing the organization strategy and also preferably be responsible for representing AAH internationally.

This person will be leading a team that is 150 strong today, with the vision to double next year.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop an effective plan of action for running programs from inception to completion.

- Manage daily operations that support and implement our current program objectives.

- Strategically map-out a program schedule and timeline and ensure it is followed.

- Ensure the smooth and proper functioning of current programs.

- Suggest innovative plans and processes to improve program functions.

- Develop work systems and processes that effectively drive productivity.

- Suggest and help create marketing initiatives to increase awareness of the program.

- Set goals for the programs and track progress, set-backs, and overall performance.

- Track, record, and compile program performance data

- Analyze program results and present findings to management

- Prepare and maintain budgets

- Provide strategic vision and strong leadership while directing programs

- Ensure programs always support and advance the organization's mission.

Required Candidate Profile

Must Haves:

- 5 years of experience working in the development sector, managing programs at the grassroots level.

- Experience or ability to manage programs across multiple states/at the national level.

- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders such as donors, the Government, communities, as well as internal stakeholders.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

Preferred:

- Ability to represent AAH globally.

- Experience in Nutrition/MCH.

- Experience with data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
