Action Against Hunger - Head - Monitoring Evaluation & Learning

Action Against Hunger is looking for a Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) Head. They will be responsible for setting up and overseeing the implementation of the organisations MEAL function.

As part of the Action Against Hungers senior leadership team, the Head will lead the overall MEAL agenda of the organisation, working closely with partners and other internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the development and execution of strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities -

- Develop a robust MEAL strategy in line with Action Against Hungers strategic vision.

- In collaboration with a cross functional committee, COO, working groups and partners, develop the outcomes and indicators that will be used to monitor a projects progress towards its goals.

- Develop data collection policies and practices, monitor uniform data collection compliance, and quality across the organization.

- Recruit, train and manage qualified team to carry out regular M&E functions.

- Build specific capacity of program teams to carry out integrated rapid needs assessments.

- Develop quality assurance checklists for M&E teams in collaboration with Technical director for development grants.

- Organize learning, knowledge sharing and capitalization workshops and ensure knowledge is used in future program design.

Does this Sound Like You ?

Must Haves:

- A minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems.

- Demonstrated expertise and an in-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative research design, as well as prior experience of analyzing qualitative and quantitative datasets.

- Prior experience using SPSS, STATA, NVivo, Atlas.ti, or other equivalent packages.

- Excellent team management, budget management and representation competencies.

Preferred:

- A strong understanding of or prior experience working in programs with a focus on Nutrition and MCH.

- Experience working with governing bodies, including boards of directors, advisory boards, commissions.

- Experience working in the social/development sector.
