Job Title: Assistant Manager - U.S. Accounting

Location: Mohali

Reports To: Deputy Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The candidate needs to be experienced and detail-oriented with a strong background in U.S. accounting principles and practices.

This position will play a critical role in overseeing the client's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, managing a team of accounting professionals, and providing financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

- General Accounting Management: Oversee the daily accounting operations, including the management of the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and revenue recognition.

- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies, including preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Internal Controls: Maintain and improve internal control processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial data.

- Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, ensuring the effective delegation of tasks and ongoing performance management.

- Tax and Regulatory Filings: Support in federal, state, and local tax filings and regulatory requirements, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax returns.

- Month-End and Year-End Close: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met and financial data is accurately reflected.

- Audits: Assist / coordinate with internal and external auditors on client's requirement to ensure successful audit results and compliance with regulatory requirements.

- ERP System Management: Oversee accounting systems (e., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and ensure they are optimized for accurate financial reporting and data management.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of U.A. GAAP, financial reporting, and tax compliance.

- Proficiency in accounting software (e., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex financial data.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex accounting issues while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific accounting regulations (e., retail, manufacturing, SaaS) is a plus.
