We are looking for a Group Health Underwriter as part of our Health Insurance vertical. Health is the second largest and fastest growing category in insurance. It is a highly under penetrated market with many opportunities for innovation and improvement of customer experience. We are launching health insurance as a new business line and are looking for rockstars to join the team. What you will do : - Be responsible for underwriting employer/employee and affinity group health clients (B2B) and their employees or group members (B2B2C) - Managing the day-to-day business as usual underwriting tasks through a team of underwriters - Analyse the portfolio from the perspective of impact of underwriting on the claims - Continuously change the underwriting rules and SOP to maintain the risk within the risk appetite and as per the underwriting policy - Oversee developments of technology platforms to be used to carry out the underwriting activities - Provide requirement to the technology developers - Test the platform when built - Continuously keep the platform updated to perform the underwriting activities efficiently - Conduct market research/ market requirement study on Underwriting practices and availability of products and benefits. - Work closely with the distribution team to understand emerging needs of different benefits, flexible plans and determine viable &amp; profitable pricing. - Proactively manage stakeholders Who we are looking for : - Sharp analytical mind, who enjoys thinking on their feet and devising innovative solutions to complex insurance product design and pricing problems - Experience in Group Health underwriting - Successful leadership and people management experience - 10+ years of experience in insurance company What's in it for you : - Tremendously impactful role that provides an opportunity to grow and be part of Acko's leadership team for health business - Ownership and satisfaction of building strategy of a large vertical almost from scratch and executing while solving problems of scale, consumer satisfaction and product flexibility - Convenient work location in HSR layout, Bangalore with a smart, inclusive team of experienced colleagues from world class organizations such as Google, Yahoo, Boston Consulting Group and Coca-Cola that are working alongside a young, dynamic product and technology team - Competitive salary, bonus and equity participation in a company that is growing quickly
