Accounting Lead - Finance Support Team (8-12 yrs)

We are seeking to hire a leader to help build functional capability and expertise with our new SAP finance system and ensure efficient and accurate operation of our new processes and controls in relation to the global finance support center. The position, located in our Gurgaon office, will report to the Finance Support Team Leader and be responsible for:

- Implementing and operating new accounting processes and related controls, to ensure accuracy and efficiency, from inception of entries in India-based global finance support team team through local finance team review and global-level sign-off.


- Process focus will include areas such as financial and management accounting, invoicing and accounts receivable, payments and accounts payable, and indirect taxes.


- Assisting with design, and performing operation, of controls such as standardized balance sheet and income statement reconciliation templates. Performance of processes should be continuously monitored and reengineered as necessary.

- Ensuring a high quality of accounting output and effective operation of SAP. Oversee month end process and coordinate among various stakeholders. Review, reconcile and consolidate different forms of monthly management reports for use by internal stakeholders, which include departmental heads and senior business leaders.


- Provide assurance to support the accuracy and completeness of our results, both as one form of output relates to another, and as regards the consistency of our accounting output with global directives, internal policies, IFRS and local statutory reporting, as applicable.

- Assisting with implementation of new management accounting methodologies.


- Understanding business processes and anticipating areas for adding value to the services that our Finance team provides. Writing global accounting procedures and task playbooks for shared service personnel; and rolling out, maintaining and enforcing adherence to these processes.

- Mentoring finance support accounting team members; ensuring they have the skills necessary to perform their functions and providing career development advice, evaluation and coaching. Maintaining high morale of the group, and helping to maximize retention, by being aware of needs and addressing concerns effectively. Structuring the team effectively among tasks and establishing effective reporting lines.

- Assist with interview process of new joiners to team, and planning of capacity needs.


- Assisting with development and implementation of mechanisms to measure performance of the team such that value to the business can be evaluated.

- Troubleshooting problems in our SAP system, such as incorrect cost rates or delays in key programs; ensuring successful resolution by instructing our SAP support team and managing stakeholder dialogue accordingly.

- Supporting the Company's Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury team and other non- accounting groups in their understanding and interpretation of our accounting and cash flow data. Assisting with training of others within the wider finance team to understand and work effectively with established processes.

Qualifications:

- BS/BA degree in Accounting, or related area, with strong academic credentials. The candidate should be a CA.

- 8+ years of relevant experience, either in a public accounting firm or for-profit business.

- Experience of working with, and designing processes for, an off-shore finance shared service center. Ability to demonstrate awareness of, and solutions for, challenges such a model entails.

- Skilled user of accounting in SAP, ideally in the professional services space. Ability to map- business processes to system-oriented solutions, and to adapt effectively at times of change.

- Strong communication and analytical skills. Good team player; ability to demonstrate camaraderie and collaboration with peers to yield the best outcome for the firm.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, consistently meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks with limited supervision and strong attention to detail.

- Self-motivated and has maturity required toExperience in international accounting or in an internationally-oriented setting.

- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel)
