Accounting Advisory Role - Bank (8-13 yrs)

The Accounting Policy Group (APG) provides technical accounting support to GFC group and the business, guides new standard implementation, writes and maintains BAC Accounting Policies, escalates items of significance or particular accounting risk to senior management, monitors standards and industry developments and advocates for BAC, works on special accounting projects as required for both IFRS and US GAAP.

This role would participate in all of the above activities providing support to a primary APG contact.

Responsibilities-

The responsibilities would include, but are not limited to the following:

- Provide advice on complex accounting guidance to Chief Accounting Officer, controllers, GFC staff, LOB CFO's and their staff, in conjunction with senior members of APG;

- Ability to face off with the desk/business, understand structured trades, think through the topic from an accounting (IFRS) perspective, identify accounting implications and provide accounting advice (written in the form of emails/memos or Oral).

- Participate in the implementation of new accounting standards and overall accounting changes;

- Provide research and support material to facilitate APG members in their advocacy role on behalf of the bank with accounting standard setters

- Participate in the annual review and update of BAC Accounting Policies, or as required.

- Review of annual financial statements across BAC's subsidiaries.

Requirements-

Education-

Chartered Accountant / CPA / CMA / MBA Finance

Certifications If Any

Experience Range-

- 8 plus years of professional experience (majority of that experience in a technical accounting advisory (IFRS/US GAAP role)

Foundational skills-

- Ability to understand, research and lead complex transactions (including structured trades) in the Investment Banking Business.

- Strong understanding of accounting standards such as IFRS 10 - Consolidation, IFRS 9 - Classification and measurement of financial instruments, IFRS 13 - Fair Value measurement, IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition, IFRS 7 - Financial instrumentdisclosures, IAS 32 - Financial instrument presentation.

- US GAAP knowledge is a definite positive.

- Prior exposure of working for GLOBAL BANKS with a sound understanding of their products.

- Understanding of Bank regulations including SEC requirements

- Prior Big-4 experience preferably in accounting advisory or similar functions in their Banking and financial services (BFSI) vertical.

Work Timings - 11.30 AM to 8.30 PM IST
