Accountant


Position : Accountant

- The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant with adaptability to the needs of a fast growing global business. You should have strong fundamental understanding of accounting, be digitally savvy, and have good communication skills.

Reports to : Managing Director

Works with : CFO, Finance team, Business Operations Manager.

Responsibilities :

- Bookkeeping & global accounting

- Bank account and credit card reconciliation

- Departmental coding of all bills, expenses, and payroll

- A/P and expense reports

- Variance analysis for departmental and consolidated expense reports for executive review. Incorporating feedback into forecasts.

Invoicing and Revenue management :

- End to end book closing to be managed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

- Account reconciliation, reconciliation analysis for appropriate balances

- Running payroll for the US entity ensuring tax compliance and commission payouts

Maintenance of chart of accounts :

- Understanding and maintenance of foreign currency consolidations and eliminations

- Cost allocations in areas such as Facilities, Information Technology, benefits and shared costs

Budget & Control :

- Detailed departmental spend tracking and control.

- Monitoring areas where budget is exceeded and analysing impact.

Taxation and Compliance :

- Preparation of tax filings for India and Global entity

- Collaborating with external consultants and government departments to file returns/reply to notices in a timely manner

- Timely and accurate payroll processing

- Invoicing and Receivable management

- Ensure that clients are invoiced in a timely manner

- Keeping track for Receivables and follow up.

Vendor Management :

- Keeping an adequate check over vendors that have cost split across various functions.

- Analyzing every vendor and managing complete documentation for their tax compliance

- Controlling expense heads and department codes for every vendor

- Exercising budgetary controls over vendors/consultants and ensuring that each payment is made as per payment terms in the contract.

Treasury and Cash Management :

- Maintain multiple bank accounts with an eye towards optimizing cash flows

Employee Expense Management :

- Ensuring that all expenses incurred by employees are as per company policy.

Basic Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree

- 4+ years commercial accounting experience

- Comfortable with sub-ledgers and online banking integration

Preferred Qualifications :

- Adept at using online accounting systems or ERP and G Suite, including Google Sheets, and/or Quickbooks Online

- Demonstrated work experience with the job responsibilities listed

- Familiarity with US GAAP and revenue recognition principles

- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Work in small teams and fast-paced environment

- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
