Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in accounting and will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, vendor payments, and expense reimbursements.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and maintain accurate vendor records.
- Prepare and process vendor payments.
- Accounts Receivable: Process customer invoices, track payments, and resolve any outstanding invoices.
- Prepare and maintain customer account records.
- Conduct credit checks and monitor customer accounts for potential risks.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with company records on a regular basis.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.
- Prepare journal entries for various transactions.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and identify trends.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend analysis.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with the preparation of sales tax returns and other tax filings.
- Internal Controls: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 5-6 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, NetSuite).
- Strong Excel skills, including knowledge of formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
