The Role: The incumbent will be responsible for the oversight and execution of all intercompany activities, such as intercompany transaction processing, reconciliation, elimination, netting and settlement, dispute management, etc. and all Consolidations activities such as translation of currency, processing of consolidation adjustments, and closing the consolidated ledger of financial results performed by the Intercompany & Consolidations team. Accounting Responsibilities: - Possess strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and other international accounting standards - Oversee and execute intercompany and consolidations accounting activities and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities across all in-scope regions - Possess understanding of intercompany impacts to three major functions- Accounting, Tax, and Treasury - Possess understanding of intercompany pricing based on Client global pricing policy to determine appropriate arm- s-length pricing - Work with leadership to plan and execute the consolidation and period-end close processes within SAP S/4HANA and Group Reporting in accordance with period-end close calendar - Manage eliminations, translations, carryforwards, etc. for legal entities and the maintenance of supporting documentation and reconciliations - Assist in reviewing portions of financial statements and answering queries from leadership - Assist supervisor in implementing and executing controls and identify high-risk areas to facilitate compliance with U.S. and local GAAP/IFRS requirements and all national and/or regional laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities - Manage the Intercompany & Consolidations group's interaction with global teams (U.S., Europe, Hong Kong, etc.) to effectively deliver reports, work products, support the regions and respond to queries - Possess strong knowledge of existing legislations and study new legislations, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise management on needed actions - Assist in research and identifications of control procedures and practices to ensure no significant SOX control deficiencies in the Intercompany sub-function - Ensure organization of documents and files to seamlessly support external audit and SOX/internal audit requests - Identify and lead resolution of operational accounting issues through regular and special analysis to ensure proper intercompany accounting - Work with the Financial Systems and other Accounting teams to assist in identification, research, and resolution of technical accounting issues - Identify and lead timely execution of process initiatives and ad-hoc projects, escalating risks and issues as appropriate, to drive operational efficiencies and improved controls - Provide recommendations to leadership to optimize intercompany policies, procedures, and governance model - Support regional leadership through business partnering by providing metrics, problem resolution, and reporting process performance - Advise staff on handling of non-routine and complex intercompany transactions - Proactively lead and perform ad-hoc analysis to identify and raise issues to leadership Management Responsibilities: - Supervise and manage the Intercompany delivery team of approximately 3 team members, ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams and shifts - Facilitate interactions between team members and business to promote cross-functional ways of working and promote seamless handoffs - Work with direct manager to manage direct reports- goals and objectives, prepare employee performance evaluations in a timely manner, and ensure staff maintains Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results within management expectations where necessary - Develop/mentor team; provide advice, counselling, soft skills guidance; interpersonal, interaction skills - Monitor staff utilization - Supervise and escalate personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc. - Foster Accenture & Client culture and values - Driving productivity and transformation initiatives - Conceptualize, plan & drive automations through RPA/AI tools etc
