Job Purpose:

- The role holder will be responsible for day to day running of the Equity/Fixed income settlements department covering a variety of financial products across European domestic markets. Markets include UK Domestic (Crest), Italy, Spain, France, Greece and Belgium as well as emerging and Scandinavian markets. It includes Agent clear, Euro Clear, Ex-Moves, UK Domestic, Market Portfolio Settlements, Emerging markets and Reconciliations.

- The role holder will provide ad hoc information to key stakeholders and will take responsibility for providing relevant management information (MI) to senior management and will use this information to predict trends and spikes in work volumes to plan the strategy and resourcing of their area. In addition, the role holder will build strong cross departmental relationships and ensure all risk and control functions are adhered to

- The role holder will lead and drive the identification of process improvements and synergies on an ongoing basis and will liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) on project enhancement for existing and new markets and will monitor trends to make the processing of business more scalable within their budgeted headcount. The role holder will have accountability for elements of their budget and will work with the business to meet any budgetary or headcount challenges without degradation to service.. The role holder will lead the team in improving the Straight Through Processing (STP) rate by identifying the root cause of exceptions and driving out inefficiencies from the business.

Main Accountabilities :

People Management and Leadership:

- The role holder will set stretching objectives for self and team and deliver against those objectives. They will lead, motivate, and develop teams to create a high-performance culture and enhance the knowledge base, skills, talent and capability of the team. The role holder will demonstrate effective use of performance development, share best practice, identify successors, and develop a culture of coaching and development. They will communicate progress against plans, achievements, and challenges and encourage feedback in addition to ensuring that the teams have the correct training and tools to undertake their duties to the highest standards, delivering a world class service to APTP- clients. He/She should also work on succession planning of team's key team players.

Key clients (internal and external)

- The role holder will work with a number of key internal and external clients. These include the Front and Middle Offices, agent banks, clients, Euroclear and Crest. The importance of building a network and providing credibility to the broader stakeholder group is crucial.

- Managing across multiple locations.

- The Role holder will require to be comfortable managing in a matrix style of management across two locations, upon the delivery of the firms location strategy.

- Experience, qualifications and other requirements specific to the role

Academic and professional qualifications

- The successful candidate will have a high level of education including Higher grade and preferably be degree educated, or equivalent. Industry recognised qualifications are desirable. They will be up to date with market and sector developments. The role holder should have min 10-15 years of experience in investment banking industry and handled equities or fixed income settlements in last 5 years in similar capacity in other IB organizations.
