Academic Operations

1. Exhibit continuous endeavour to improve the operational effectiveness of the institution by maintaining overall supervision of teaching, event/ programs and day to day administration

2. Abide by all the process that are an integral part of the Autonomous Regulations

3. Ensure timely conduct of examinations by partnering and coordinating with CoE

4. Suggest appropriate changes in and ensure adherence to approved policies, practices and procedures by all stakeholders

5. Plan the annual budget focusing on initiatives for development of faculty, students and institution infrastructure

6. Ensure active participation for improving the quality standards of the institution by identifying quality lapses and suggest improvement measures

7. Hold regular staff meetings for the purpose of discussing educational and administrative matters

8. Build processes to instil a culture of fairness, honesty and integrity at all levels within the institution

9. Assess overall performance of the institution using reports generated from the system

10. Plan for community development and CSR initiatives and its effective execution

11. Provide active support in full integration of IT convergence on Heraizen platform

12. Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Chairman

Academic Development :

1. Design, in consultation with HOD/Faculty and the academic committee/ Board of Studies, the curriculum and oversee successful curriculum implementation and teaching methods to ensure academic excellence.

2. Draft academic plan including proposed new/ updated courses focused on skill development & employability

3. Assure the development and implementation of extra-curricular programs, and service opportunities in keeping with the Academy's mission.

4. Develop a networking plan for academia - industry collaboration through projects with industry - creating platform for future placements

6. Organize and ensure completion of seminars, timely audits and FDP as part of the IQAC agenda

7. Ensure compliance to NAAC guidelines for (re)accreditation

8. Provide adequate support to IQAC through timely submission of accurate and regular reports for fulfilling NAAC requirements

9. Plan for timely reporting/ renewals as prescribed by regulatory bodies

10. Proactively plan for acquiring recognitions/awards/schemes and grants

11. Provide adequate support to IACPE for all planned initiatives

Team Engagement & Retention :

1. Hire, retain and supervise high-calibre faculty and staff, who are committed to the vision of the Academy.

2. Manage the schedules, attendance, leave application and other aspects

3. Promote the professional development of staff through staff meetings, in-service training and a clear annual Faculty Development Calendar

4. Responsible for orientation for all the new joining faculty

5. Review academic results delivered by the faculty based on defined parameters

6. Manage ongoing, fair & open interaction with faculty and HODs for building engagement, constructive feedback, resolving grievances for better retention

7. Identify talent within the ecosystem and plan for talent development through a robust talent roadmap

Role : Principal Degree College Reporting to: COO

Admissions and Placement Initiatives :

1. Invite professionals for guest lectures creating practical learning platform for students

2. Connect with business leaders and HR heads to brief them on the college activities, students quality and learning methodologies

3. Collaborate for live projects/ assignments as a part of curriculum

4. Coordinate with Admissions team to propose admission targets, develop admissions strategy and provide inputs for fixation of fees

5. Provide support for training of admission counsellors on details of courses offered by the institution and career opportunities to counsel the target student groups

6. Work with HODs, Admissions Team for reviewing catchment areas, target institutions

7. Plan for a branding connects during the year/ suggest sponsorship of programs / lectures/ competitions leading to campus visits/ faculty programs for target institutions

8. Collaborate with Placements team for pre-placement and campus placement and oversee the conduct of FGDs and mock interviews

9. Plan the timelines for initiating/ closing activities related to Admissions and Placements working along with the respective teams

Research & Development :

1. Decide the research targets based on consultation with HODs for meeting the NAAC requirements

2. Propose and drive research targets for institution & identify research intense faculty

3. Ensure research orientation of faculty through FDPs on various areas for conducting effective research studies

4. Publish research articles in reputed National/ International research journals

Student Support :

- 1. Establish a climate in which students can develop self-discipline

2. Supervision of student welfare, health and security services, provide guidance and counselling as required

3. Co-ordinate and/or direct the evaluation of student progress and achievement and the provision of regular reports to parents as required

Educational Qualification/ Work Experience :

- Ph.D. Degree with working experience as Principal/ Vice Principal in Autonomous College for minimum 10 years

- Experience of handling NAAC accreditation in at least 1 cycle

- Good teaching and research background
