Job Description & Expectations

- Curation of curriculum and courses for

a. Student and emigrant test-takers

b. Knowledge professionals

c. Service industry employees

d. Gig workers (e.g., Swiggy delivery pros)

e. Home makers

f. College students

g. Self-employed

- Evaluation, selection, on-boarding and engaging instructors

- Fill liquidity gaps with appropriate instructors

- Manage process for selection and on-boarding

- Monitoring of teaching quality and feedback

- Instructor training and recognition

- Developing instructor community

- Ensuring student outcomes and success

- Motivating both students and instructors

- Enabling both synchronous and asynchronous learning

- Professional development of instructors

- Curation and development of content and community

- Lead development of supplemental content

- Generate new ideas to improve student and tutor experience to drive growth, exhibit sound judgment and present clear measurable objectives for student outcomes

- Work with the ecosystem of institutions, instructors and students to foster partner relationships; get to know them, their use cases in depth and how they could use our products to solve their challenges

- Translate category strategy into detailed requirements and collaborate with engineering/ tech/ UX teams towards development of concrete platform features and additions to existing features for a better learning experience

- Scope and prioritize activities based on impact, drive execution against a product go-to-market plan

The hired Academic Director is also likely to (snapshot of their work):

- Track key performance indicators for student outcomes (English proficiency scores, etc.)

- Coordinating with design, tech, and content teams to create a student experience that delivers superior learning outcomes

The Ideal Candidate Qualifications

- Graduate of English (or B.Ed)

- Minimum of 10+ years experience as an English Trainer and consultant with a top-tier organization

- Relevant English teaching qualifications (CELTA, DELTA, etc.)

- Exposure to Global English learning frameworks and methodologies and best practices

- Superb analytical/inference thinking, approximations, and communication skills required

- Demonstrated competency in e-Content authoring and writing

- Exposure to multiple Indian languages

- Strong academics

- Demonstrated interest in or passion for consumer categories of any kind is a plus

- Team handling and mentoring
