91springboard - Cluster Manager - P&L (5-8 yrs)

Delhi Job Code: 742447

Cluster Manager - Delhi

About the position :

The Cluster Manager is the cluster head of our business for a group of hubs within an area. It is first and foremost a role for someone who can drive operational excellence and build the 91 community the 91 way. But as the owner of these hubs, you'll also be tasked with growing our business both in expanding our operations and in growing our brand and member base.

Operations management, team management, local marketing, community activities, partnerships, local PR, P&L management, and hiring - all lie under the ambit of the Cluster Manager.

Overall Responsibilities :

- Work with allotted hubs to achieve and maintain a high standard of operational excellence and community engagement

Manager of managers :

- Leadership : A Cluster Manager is fundamentally a leadership role. It requires setting up of a vision and the subsequent strategy/framework necessary in order to provide clarity for your hubs to operate. To do this, it is important that the Cluster Manager is the ambassador of our culture and values herself/himself and is effective in propagating these effectively amongst her/his team

- Communication and Feedback : Effective communication and feedback-giving (positive or negative) is necessary for you to ensure that your managers know where they stand and what is required for them to improve their performance.

- To meet your team on a weekly basis in order to have an effective two way conversation on the progress of your hubs

- Transparency : transparency is vital to an organization's growth and it is important that a Senior Hub General Manager holds periodic meetings with their manager's teams via skip level meetings. These meetings ensure that the team feels heard and any corrective actions can be taken by obtaining detailed feedback

- Work with the Hub Managers at each hub to plan, set objectives, and make progress against these objectives

- Monitor key metrics (NPS, Churn, Retention, Fill Rate, Financials and Occupancy) and dive deeper where needed to identify areas of improvement.

Sidenote : We are a young company that is only just starting to develop processes and measurement systems. Our first few Area Leads will need to be part of this development process. They will inherit very few preexisting systems.

- Build a culture of continuous improvement in hub teams, both in fixing bugs and in experimenting with new ideas to improve

- Drive certain area wide initiatives yourself, both on the operations side and in our community efforts

- Personally, spend time on the ground to evaluate how each hub is doing in a more qualitative sense

- Roll up the sleeves and get into execution whenever needed (big event in a hub or water tanker burst)

- Handle escalations of trickier issues from hub.

Ensure we're growing in the area / city :

- Evaluate our sales and marketing efforts, gather on ground input, and work with the sales and marketing teams in continuously refining these for your local markets.

- Plan activities to make sure that 91springboard as a brand is known in the local micromarket.

Coordinate community efforts across the city :

- Establish and build on relationships with partners in the local ecosystem

- Engage with mentors, investors, media, and other friends of the 91 family in your city

- Be responsible for the overall community experience for members in the city.

Build a great team :

- Lead our hiring efforts in the city/zone

- Coach Hub Managers/Prospective Hub Managers on managing and growing teams

- Solve conflicts and differences when they come up

- Set Key Performance Indicators for different Hub Managers in the city, monitor them regularly and help them grow.

- Be responsible for Learning and Development for the team (help in identifying trainers within the city team and decide training locations for new employees)

Own the P&L :

- Reduce costs

- Increase revenues

- Forecasting and planning

- Without compromising quality or our goodwill with our members

- Be single point of contact for the Zonal head for the P&L of the different hubs under you.

Skills Required :

To do all of the above, you'll probably need :

- 5+ years of experience in operations management, client services, hospitality or marketing

- People skills are paramount. You'll be managing the entire group of hubs and dealing with a wide array of partners, mentors, investors and other stakeholders

- Strong sense of what's right for our members. Ability to empathize with and think from the member's point of view

- Excellent data driven decision making ability backed by sound analytical thinking

- Planning, estimation, and project management skills

- Ability to systematize, create processes that are user friendly (read: not bureaucratic) and efficient

- Top notch execution skills. Independent with a get-shit-done attitude

- Someone with a background in Startup or Startup Ecosystem & who comes with existing relationship in the city is preferred

- Yes, we're aware that this person will be hard to find.
