About the role: The 56 Data Science team in Bangalore is building a new ground-up platform that transforms physical security. This platform has to be self-serviced, highly reliable, scalable and built for the future. We follow and adopt new technologies and our work includes challenges in the areas of security, computer vision, geo-location, payments, scalability and architecture. The ideal candidate should : - Incumbent is responsible for developing analytical models for projects collaborating with different business stakeholders & other partners and working across a range of technologies and tools. - The ideal candidate has a strong background in quantitative skills (like statistics, mathematics, advanced computing, machine learning) and has applied those skills in solving real world problems across different businesses / functions. Key Responsibilities : 1. Develops analytics models using specialized tools based on the business problem and data available 2. Identifies the right set of models and develops the right code / package to execute them 3. Evaluates the validity of the model (both scientifically as well as from a business perspective) 4. Support the Data Science Team Lead in design and execution of analytics projects 5. Work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to complete tasks and deliverables on projects 6. Working collaboratively across multiple sets of stakeholders - Engineering, product, UX, marketing, sales, etc. to deliver on project deliverables and tasks 7. Identify actionable insights that directly address challenges / opportunities 8. Articulate business insights and recommendations (based on model output) to respective stakeholders 9. Understanding business KPIs, frameworks and drivers for performance Skills Required : 1. Bachelors or Masters in a quantitative field (such as Engineering, Statistics, Math, Economics, or Computer Science with Modelling/Data Science), preferably with work experience of over 4 years. 2. Ability to program in any high level language is required. Familiarity with Python and statistical packages are preferred. 3. Proven problem solving and debugging skills. 4. Familiar with database technologies and tools like SQL , data warehousing, transformation and processing. Work experience with real data for customer insights, business and market analysis will be advantageous. 5. Experience with text analytics, data mining and social media analytics. 6. Statistical knowledge in standard techniques: Logistic Regression, Classification models, Cluster Analysis, Neural Networks, Random Forests, Ensembles, etc.
