Program Overview

The Post Graduate Certificate Program in Operations Management (PGCPOM) is designed for operations professionals to enable them to take tactical and operational decisions in alignment with the organizational strategy. The program unravels key issues relevant for operations managers such as, what should be the operations strategy given a corporate strategy? How to improve process and supply chain performance on various dimensions (Quality, Efficiency, Timeliness, Customizability), How to apply analytics in day to day operations of a firm? How to incentivize various stakeholders in the supply chain for effective alignment? and How to plan and execute projects (such as infrastructure development, IT, R&D, etc.) in an effective manner?

This program will:

● Understand key issues pertaining to Operations Management Recognize the role of Operations Management in ensuring sustainable competitive advantage

● Acknowledge the need for alignment of operations with overall strategy and other functional areas

● Create and apply metrics to track and improve operational performance

● Appreciate advances in OM such as Operations Analytics & Industry 4.0

Desired Candidate Profile

● Diploma (10+2+3) or bachelors degree or equivalent (10+2+3 or 10+2+4) or 2-Year Masters Degree or equivalent from a recognized university (UGC/AICTE/DEC/AIU) in any discipline

● Minimum 2 years of work experience after completion of qualifying education

● Participants who fulfil the above criteria and are not currently working are also eligible to apply

● Final selection will be done by IIM Nagpur

● Module 4: Project Execution and Control:

Tracking, Crashing, Earned Value Analysis

Project Strategy :

Portfolio Management, Project Leadership, Management of Change, Role of Communication, Managing Culture, Management of Project Teams

Inventory Management:

Economic Order Quantity, Continuous, Periodic Review, Newsvendor, Channel

● Module 5: Quality Management:

Quality, Dimensions of Quality, Design for Quality, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, Total Productive Maintenance Process Control Charts, Capability Value Stream Mapping, Drum-Buffer-Rope, Theory of Constraints

Lean Management :

Lean, Waste, Toyota Production System, Just-in-Time (JIT) JIT Cycle, Single Minute Exchange of Die, Kaizen, Kanban, Lean Six Sigma

● Module 6: Industry 4.0:
