Zonal Manager - Paints (6-12 yrs)

Reports to: Regional Manger

Direct Reports: Area sales manager, Area sales executive, Sales manager, Depot manager

Other Reporting Lines: N.A

Reason for Proposal: (kindly limit to a maximum of four)

- Formulate and track implementation of depot specific plans in line with business thrusts

- Aligns the sales team for delivery of sales, demand generation and channel objectives

- Manage the sales team to implement plans for the assigned area.

- Drive value with OD and discounts in control

- Drive agreed architecture and metrics

- Demand generation

Key Objectives/Principal Accountabilities: (kindly limit to a maximum of eight)

- Define key thrust areas for depots, set specific strategic milestones and drive achievement of milestones by the team.

- Build capability & develop People/team through selection,recruitment,performance management & development of sales team.

- Identify high growth opportunities and prioritize resource deployment for market share gains

- Integrate the trade,Pro, Bharat, Modern Retail and conventional refinish business teams to leverage synergies for delivering business objectives.

- Drive national and area specific demand generation initiatives along with the Regional Trade Marketing Manager while ensuring quality and speed of implementation at depot level.

Responsible for developing town level plans with the input of the ASM:

- Ensuring the delivery of these town level plans with the input of ASM

- Creating an environment for delivery of the plans

- Ensures that the DDCN/Fortress/High Potential Retailer plans/Developer are on track.

- Runs the DDCN & Developer Sales team.

Functional Responsibilities/Network (kindly limit to a maximum of five)

- Interaction with the Regional Logistics Manager on depot operation and supplies

- Interaction with the Regional Trade Marketing Manager on demand generation and activation plans

- Interaction with the Regional Commercial Manager and Accounts department

- Interaction with the Regional Human Resource Manager for all HR functionalities

Job Context (the Nature & Scope of the Business):

The world's largest coatings company with a turnover of - 15 Billion. The India South Asia business unit has access to world class products, processes and technologies. The India business has recently embarked on scripting an aggressive strategy, which aims at doubling the turnover over the next 3 years.

However, there are significant gaps in various product markets and distribution, which need an approach, which is different than the classical way to build existing markets and products. Hence, the incumbent is required to incubate, develop and nurture new ideas with the intent of delivering breakthrough growth.

- The incumbent will also head start the operations for Bangladesh and Nepal.

Other skills: (please include other relevant information such as education, necessary experience, etc)

- Experience: 8-10 years if from non-premier B-School or 7 years from Premier B-School with experience in industries like Paints, FMCG, Building material, Lubes etc

- Experience in handling tough markets, product lines, team of unit heads.
