Senior Manager/ AVP - Predictive Modeling
Primary Responsibilities :
- Lead daily activities of the predictive modeling team across multiple projects
- Mentor, train, develop junior staff members, and perform administrative duties on behalf of the team
- Providing strategic vision for predictive modeling capabilities to support SA objectives
- Work closely with line of business actuarial, underwriting and SA to deliver advanced analytical insights which support profitable growth for underwriting businesses
- Effectively manage multiple resources and projects concurrently to ensure successful completion of analytic projects
- Provide leadership and development for predictive modeling team
- Participate in enhancements of analytic offerings and creation of new internal practice standards.
Job Requirements :
- MS or PhD in statistics, econometrics or similar; or significant experience in advanced data analytics
- 10-15 years of experience in advanced analytics role, of which 3-5 years focused on p/c insurance
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role managing analytics teams
- Strategic thinker
- Excellent working knowledge of statistical modeling tools such as SAS, R, or similar
- Proven record of delivering significant business value from developing and implementing advanced analytical tools and insights
- Detailed understanding of data mining, predictive modeling and other advanced analytical techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; can effectively convey complex concepts to non-analytical people; able to influence business stakeholders and drive change
- Possesses natural curiosity and thinks outside the box
- Able to collaborate with people from multiple functions; able to establish trusting relationships with business partners
- Strong execution skills
- Ability to travel a moderate amount
