Team Overview :

- Expense team works as a Centre of Excellence for the Global Expenses (around $2200 million) of the XL Group. The main activities involve Expense Planning, Forecast, Allocationsand Reporting & Analytic functions.

- The team extensively works on various IT Applications (Hyperion Planning, SAP Business Objects, PeopleSoft, OBIEE, MS Access etc) on day to day basis.

- The activities within the team help in determining the Product Profitability accurately and assist the Global heads to drive the strategic changes within their functions.

- Team Reports and the analysis prepared by the team helps the organisation in monitoring and controlling of the expenses.

Key Areas of Responsibilities :

Manages the Global Expense Allocation and Reporting functions :

- Responsible for Legal Entity, Businesses, ULAE and Management Product Line allocations for the Group.

- Review, update and Maintenance of Business Object tool (SAP PCM) to perform allocations based on agreed keys with business functions

- Perform ULAE process on quarterly basis and provide meaningful analysis

- Review of Expense Allocations Journal

- Provide robust analysis and commentary on Allocations

- Generate Allocation reports and Presentation Slides to explain allocations to business

- Quarterly and adhoc reporting on expense allocations data and sensitivity analysis on plan and actuals data sets as per new mark up rules and legal entity structure to tax team and making further changes discussed in the meetings

- Review tax files including allocation pools, keys, calculation methodologies, schedule, Monnet diagram and Documentation

- Perform/Review CMP allocations for Reinsurance segment

- Compile, Allocate and load reforecast in Hyperion

- Compile, Analyze, interact with segments for Plan Allocation Keys

- Maintain strong communication with onshore (both written and verbal) and manage expectations

- Team management: involving work allocation, setting goals and objectives, appraisals, conflict resolution, and creating a motivating and challenging environment for best utilization of skills

Qualification/Skills :

- CA (May 08 - May 10 batch) with 6 to 8 years of experience in Financial Accounting and Reporting

Other Qualities :

- Strong Accounting knowledge of P&L and BS.

- Strong Analytical Skills.

- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.

- Organized, methodical, able to deal effectively with multiple priorities and do multitasking.

- Ability to work independently in a fast paced multi-cultural environment.

- Good to have Intermediate IT skills (MS Excel, MS Access).

- Knowledge of an ERP package (particularly PeopleSoft) is preferable.

- Candidates with insurance Industry would be preferred
