- External reporting finance team is involved in producing the financial statements based on the statutory rules and as per the local GAAP requirements on a quarterly basis.

- The team is also involved in preparation of the various reports and forms as prescribed by the Insurance regulatory authorities of various countries where XL writes its insurance business from on a quarterly and annual basis.

- The team produces various reports for the regulator to show we maintain sufficient level of solvency and liquidity as prescribed by the regulator.

- The team prepares various reports as prescribed by the USGAAP corporate close calendar.

- The team performs data clean ups and prepares various source system & other reconciliations to support various stakeholders and auditors.

What will your essential responsibilities include :

- Maintenance of accounting records for XL Catlin US, reconciling balance sheet accounts and ensuring ledgers are complete in time for group translation and consolidation.

- Review inter-company balances, and provide analysis of the balances between XL groups companies and the XL US.

- Preparation of quarterly and yearly statutory financials as per US SAP (Statutory Accounting Principles) and preparation of technical reports for Regulatory reporting both for Regulators and financial authorities.

- Capital Adequacy ratios calculations and providing recommendations/explanation thereon.

- Submission of management reporting monthly and quarterly as prescribed in line with the stakeholders requirements

- Support for Statutory audit requirements and related queries, complying with external actuarial reporting requirements and handling stress testing (projected financials with different scenarios).

- Reviewing Actuarial reserves and quarterly accruals for Reinstatement premium, Bad debts and RI recoveries to the ledger.

- Preparation and Reviewing lead schedules reports after the ledger close and report the numbers to stakeholders.

- Ensuring complete written procedure manuals

- Participate in project work as and when required

- You will report to (Senior Manager - Finance)

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills :

- CA with 5-6 years of post-qualification experience in an organization of repute

- Strong Accounting knowledge (USGAAP & IFRS), having grasp of overall Financial Statements (P&L and BS)

- Candidates with experience in reporting on US SAP (Statutory Accounting Principles) preferable.

- Proficient in IT skills (MS Excel, MS Access)

- Able to produce polished written work product (memos, PowerPoint decks, analysis)

- Good spoken & written Communication & interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

- Knowledge of an ERP package (particularly PeopleSoft& HFM) is preferable

- Candidates with (re)insurance technical accounting/reporting exposure would be preferred

- Willing to travel to US for training.

- International outlook; capable of working extended hours during critical times and effectively across borders and across cultures
