Xenon Automotive aims to bring big data to cars and driving- Interested in creating disruptive solutions using machine learning and data mining techniques on terabytes of data generated in a car.

At Xenon Automotive, we are aiming to develop forward thinking services and applications on the cloud using telematics data from vehicles for our customers. We would like to apply predictive technologies to a wide spectrum of automotive related applications ranging from driving behaviour to predictive diagnostics. You will work in a team dedicated to changing the way we buy, own, engage, drive and service cars.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Work as and lead a team of data scientists to solve big data problems with connected car / telematics data

- Build ground up core analytics offerings and shape the technology roadmap in our high growth and start up organization

- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for advanced analytics products delivered to automotive clients

- Design and perform statistical analysis on various data sets small and large, structured/unstructured, and develop efficient and reliable algorithms to answer business requirements

- Establish scalable and efficient processes for large scale data analyses, model development, validation and implementation

- Contribute to the IP portfolio of the company in the form of patents, white papers, blogs,

- Assist leadership in interviewing and hiring talent

- Mentor and develop junior staff and peers

REQUIREMENTS

- Masters (or PhD) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or related fields

- Strong background in Statistics and/or Machine learning, predictive modelling and analytics for engineering / industrial / M2M applications

- Practical experience with data analysis and understanding data

- Practical experience with building statistical and/or machine learning models

- Data analysis - hypothesis testing, Bayesian methods, regression analysis, visualization

- Machine learning (supervised and unsupervised learning, regression/classification/clustering etc.)

- Time series and spatio-temporal modelling

- Design and analysis of algorithms

- Strong programming experience (R/Python) and comfort with basic algorithms and data structures

- Fluency in spoken and written English

- Experience with query interfaces such as SQL, Mapreduce, HBase and Apache Hadoop - desirable

- Experience with programming languages C, C++, Octave etc. desirable

- Experience with open source tools (Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Mahout, Weka etc.) would be a plus

- Experience with SQL and also data visualization techniques would be desirable
