Role Purpose

Working under shared service centre in India, the Qualified Accountant is responsible for developing and supporting the management/financial accounting framework of Xchanging businesses. The position is expected to assist the Finance Controller/Manager of respective Xchanging businesses assigned.

The Accountant has a key role in forecasting, financial analysis, review of balance sheet and providing timely, accurate and targeted information and supporting value add. Should be an ambassador for Xchanging demonstrating strong communication skills.

Key Accountabilities

- Responsibility for financial control and financial and variance analysis of P&L and balance sheet items.

- Liaising with relevant contacts in the business to ensure timely and accurate costs recording and recoveries

- Supporting Finance Manager in maintaining the rolling forecast process

- Proactively maintains and drives improvements in standards for accuracy, quality, standard financial information, key performance indicators, levels of budget holder accountability and the general communication of information to the business

- Producing up-to date monthly run rate forecasting illustrating the true underlying run rate for the business removing one off movements and highlighting the key movement by cost type assumed necessary to deliver the full year forecast numbers

- Assisting the finance team to drive improved financial performance

- Drive half yearly/annual close and ensure timely, accurate and complete results reporting

- Drive process improvements and standardisation projects and other initiatives related to costs and recoveries optimisation

- Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow management, debtors and creditors management, intercompany balance agreement etc

- Capitalisation and depreciation forecast and accounting

- Providing information to group tax for corporation tax returns, reconciliations of tax

- Adhoc tasks as and when required

Criteria

- Chartered accountant with 2-4 years. Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP is preferred.

- Setting and maintaining the highest professional standards for himself / herself

- Self motivated and needs to be excellent team player

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications

- Dealing with and resolving problems using a high degree of independent judgement, strong analytical skills with high attention to details

- Advanced Microsoft Excel (IF, lookup, pivot etc)

- Proficient in word and power-point

- Proficient with Oracle/SAP. Desirable exposure to Hyperion financials.
