Job Responsibilities:
- Analyse claim, premium and related data to support the senior team members in their decision making processes.
- Develop complex actuarial and valuation models.
- Prepare, investigate and review integrity of data bringing to the attention of senior team members areas of inferior data quality with recommendations on practical solutions to improve data quality.
- Prepare insightful monitoring of segment claims experience and key performance indicators.
- Perform statistical/actuarial analysis to assist in the estimation of:
- claim costs for the company’s accounts and budgeting process,
- premium liabilities;
- risk premiums;
- the impact of various rating factors on risk premiums calculations;
- overall premium rates;
- capital requirements and allocations; and
- reinsurance requirements and allocations.
- Maintaining and expanding documentation of processes and methodology
- Prepares reports for Actuaries or lines of Business.
- Prepares technical reports or related documentation as required.
- Owns service delivery of multiple deliverables and deliver above SLA performance aligned with strategy, focusing on efficiency, productivity, insight & quality.
- Coaches and drives team members to deliver a first class service.
- Client/Customer management: proactive communication and effective expectation management.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality and audit requirements including QC procedures.
- Work collaboratively across multiple teams to meet requirements of the Management team – offshore and onshore.
- Liaise with onshore team to understand project specifications, develop solution and work plan.
Work experience required
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience including analytical role in General Insurance (GI) for Analyst role
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience including analytical role in General Insurance (GI) for Sr. Analyst role
Technical Requirements
- Actuarial - having cleared 2-4 actuarial papers
- GI experience – mandatory
- Advanced SAS skills – mandatory
- Advanced Excel/VBA skills – mandatory
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills
- Strong Communicator – able to listen, understand and speak effectively
- Trainer level knowledge and understanding of insurance processes: can articulate the purpose and benefit of deliverables to peers and subordinates
- Strong understanding of delivering a service with customer focus: can instil sense of urgency in team members and inspire them to go the extra mile when required
