Wipro - Corporate Counsel - Dispute Resolution (8-12 yrs)

Experience:

- 8 - 12 years post-qualification experience in working with corporate house (preferably from IT/ITES industry) having a multinational presence or with a leading law firm handling the below job responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

- Providing real-time opinion and advice to Wipro’s Business Units on law and legal issues.

- Early addressing of disputes with customers, vendors, employees, statutory bodies and third parties in different geographies for speedy resolution in coordination with business and finance stakeholders.

- Effectively initiating and defending litigation by engaging cost-effective counsel and identifying right opportunities for settlement or successful closure.

- Researching and analyzing documents and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure.

- Managing robust dispute resolution management portal for online tracking and management reporting.

- Managing a team of in-house counsels handling litigation across different geographies.

- Managing external counsel in different geographies for cost-effective and timely support in disputes, litigation.

- Strong and in-depth legal knowledge

- Ability to understand legal procedures and law of the land

- Ability to maintain high ethical standards in line with Spirit of Wipro

Analytical and Communication Skills:

- Ability to comprehend the issues and identify the solutions that would help in the dispute resolutions

- Should be able to clearly articulate the case and prepare strong briefs for external counsel, non-legal management reporting and presenting the case before various internal forums

Collaboration and Influencing:

- Strong inter personal skills, with an ability to work effectively in a matrixed structure

- Ability to collaborate across all levels - relevant unit heads, peers, subordinates, management team as well as senior global leaders within the Company

- Ability to interact with and influence counsel, law firms, other experts for achieving organizational goals

Team Leadership:

- Ability to understands role in a team situation and contribute effectively. Share information and maintain effective working relationships with other team members

- Skill to encourage and acknowledge team work and delivers through people

Qualification: LLB, preferably from a premier law institute in India.
