WeWork - General Counsel Role - Corporate & Transactions (8-12 yrs)
WeWork is hiring for its Counsel, Corporate & Transactions position. The role is a unique opportunity to be an integral part of the business and legal teams to support our growth in India. The hire will be responsible for:
- Real estate leases: negotiating commercial real estate leases
- Construction agreements: negotiating general contractor, engineer and architect agreements
- Sales and vendor agreements: advising sales and operations teams, negotiating and resolving issues on our customer and supplier agreements
- Employment: supporting our HR team on regulatory and contractual matters
- Corporate: corporate secretarial work on corporate entities
- New market preparedness: structuring our operations to meet regulatory requirements and localize agreements
- Litigation: advising business teams on resolving pre-litigation disputes and directing disputes once developed into formal litigation
- Compliance: work with global HQ to implement
Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years experience in corporate and commercial matters, in-house experience preferred but not required.
- Facility with drafting and fast-paced negotiation and dealing with subject matters outside of the area of expertise.
- The ideal candidate will be able to strategize on high-level matters while advising business teams on day-to-day contract negotiations and regulatory matters.
- A sincere desire to help small businesses: not just because that's what our mission is, but also because that's how we think of our internal clients.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic growth-mode environment.
- Good educators and communicators.
- Strong English language skills required.
