- We continue to invest heavily in using, and developing technology that allows us to move money seamlessly; eliminating barriers based on location, currency, payment method, platform, etc. Some companies specialize in cash-based retail money transfer and others play only in digital. - As the Vice President, Engineering you will be initially responsible for captive transition of various Global Operations and Technology (GO-Tech) platforms in global alignment with all Western Union strategies.

- You will be responsible for partnering with senior Western Union onshore technology leaders in creating, implementing, tracking, and reporting service quality metrics and measures in support of various IT platforms and processes.

- You will play a critical role in achieving effectiveness and efficiencies through creating a customer centric work environment, which includes the development and implementation of a repeatable service delivery model; the implementation of a process inventory agreement, the establishment of key service levels; timely reporting through scorecards and dashboards to track progress; and the creation of a mechanism to report out and implement improvement actions.

- You will partner closely with onshore leaders in creating strong integration plans across the site. Specifically, your role will provide global service delivery for technology platforms as they are transitioned to the site.

- You will be responsible in leading the efforts to build a world class organization with various tech and functional leaders. You will be responsible for building the engineering culture at the TEC (Technology Engineering Center)

Key responsibilities :

Engineering and project delivery :

- Responsible for migration of technology platforms and processes as per project timelines and ensure smooth knowledge transfer in partnership with onshore technology leaders

- Align execution priorities - project delivery, employee goals, and establish service levels with business, regional, end-to- end, and functional owners to drive service quality through quality control.

- Partner and work directly with senior GO-Tech leadership across all lines of Western Union business and key Shared Service areas to solicit evaluations on service quality

TEC governance and interaction with WU HQ :

- Work directly with all stakeholders to maintain an integrated culture of continuous improvement, best in class delivery of operations, operational efficiencies, and standardized processes.

- Develop, implement, track and report on the Service Level Agreement (SLA) for GO-Tech platforms and processes onsite in collaboration with onshore leaders, functional leaders and other key stakeholders.

- Effectively manage risk to delivery through defined oversight and intervention mechanism

Talent and resource management :

- Lead a team of employees, including engineering, operations, and shared service functions

- Partner with all stakeholders, as required to (a) Implement an inclusive and transparent culture across employee development, engagement and retention programs (e.g. training, career progression), and (b) coach, motivate and lead management team to become future leaders in the enterprise

- Continually reinforce the value proposition of the captive within the enterprise through innovation and execution

- Lead and participate in work force and talent planning initiatives with an aim to optimize resource utilization

- Be responsible for the internal communication strategy to ensure that relevant communication channels are available to all employees.

- Be the official WU representative in the local market that will be responsible for developing and implementing the external representation strategy, while establishing the captive as an employer of choice in Pune

What we require :

- Engineering / Master's degree in Electronics, Computers, IT / MBA in Business Administration or equivalent from a premiere institute

- 15-20 years of progressive leadership and management experience in running an IT service delivery organization

- 10+ years of operations experience, preferably in a continuous improvement environment

- Demonstrate a strong business / functional acumen with excellent negotiation and influencing skills

- Demonstrated success in driving process improvements across very complex operations and systems.

- An ability to build deep relationships across senior stakeholders in the demand group

- Strong organizational effectiveness skills (group dynamics, new business development and cross-matrix expertise) are important along with time and project management skills

- Experience and knowledge of AGILE deployment

- Experience in leading offshore service centers is strongly preferred

- Experience of working in a global, highly-matrixed organization

Ability to build strong relationships with multiple external bodies :

- Third party providers

- Public/Government Relations

- Universities

- Industry associations

Experience in vendor management is an added advantage
